THE TEENTALK CLINIC

Hey girls and guys! I, together with the other 6 willing and helpful teentalkers, would like to help you in your Health Problems. If you have any concerns regarding your body systems and everything related to it, you are very welcome to ask here. Please be patient in waiting for our answers since most of us are also busy with duties/internship.

Xyla (x-y) - fresh graduate of Nursing of FEU, RN (June 2006)
Anton (alynnah) - currently taking up medicine at FEU-NRMF.
Dindy (sugar_free_12) - 4th yr nursing student who is also very willing to help.
Ziux (Strawberry Pantsu) - 4th yr BS Medtech, Trinity College.
Rei (Yukino_Yuri) - incoming Med. student. BS Biology grad. of Trinity College
green_blood - 4th yr nursing student, De La Salle Health Sciences Campus
Tina (tinakris_6teen) - fresh graduate of nursing of FEU. RN (December 2006)
Kelly (isabellevenstar) - incoming med student at UST, Biochemistry graduate at UP.



NOTE:
the only problems WE can answer are those who have PHYSIOLOGICAL problems. hindi po yung probs regarding enhancing your body parts blah blah.. our course isn't focused on that matter. pwede lang yung mga respi. problem, cardio problem.... gets?

kasi ganito yun, about my menstrual cycle 'toh.. ahaha tama ba? kasi nagbibilang ako kung kailan ako nagkakaron. Kumbaga may calendar na ako for it... Check mo yung mga dates na nagkaron ako nugn start of jan 2005 up to present *yun na kasi nasimulan ko*

jan 19 - 26
feb 16-23
mar 15 - 22
april 12-19
may 7-4
june 4-11

If ever napapansin mo laging 21 days lang ang agwat, is there any prob with me? :( it started around oct 2004, pero di ko nalagay sa calendar un eh.. basta nung start of october, then meron ulit nung end na of october.. wala lang.. ano kaya prob skn?

@ maye: nde kase tayo pare-parheo ng menstrual cycle... mine is actually 30-45 days ang agwat.. as in sobrang irregular...

the reasons behind irregular menstruations are:
-stress
-hormonal imbalance
-lack of nutrients in the body

actually, interrelated yang 3.. i forgot yung iba pang factors that affect our menstrual cycle pero yan mostly yung concerns ng girls.. alam naman nating lahat na kapag stressed tayo, may physiologic effect yun sa body natin.. it's either we get zits on our face or we get sick.. and even have irregular menstrual cycle... the reason why it is interrelated with hormonal imbalance is that siempre pag stressed ka.. may nangyayaring defense mechanism sa katawan mo.. yung mga hormones natin.. ngiiba ng level.. may mga circumstances na tataas yung hormones then bumababa... some situations (like pregnancy) affect our hormones.. for example yung estrogen which is the primary female sex hormone which is responsible for puberty changes including the menstrual cycle..

sa nutrition naman.. of course, if you lack important nutrients needed by your body, automatically, some of your body organs won't function well. it's either they would release very minimal amounts of whatever they release (like hormones, secretions.. blah blah..*enough with medical terms i dont wanna confuse you with such things*).. kung baga in layman's term, nde maganda sa isang katawan ang sobra at kulang.. nde ba?

ano pwedeng gwin with it? (sorry ang haba.. i just want to clear everything since this is one of the frequently asked questions.)::
-dont stress yourself up
-drink 8-12 glasses of water everyday (but do not intoxicate yourself with water because excess in water in the body is not normal.)
-take ferrous sulfate every night. it's a supplement.. not a medicine that cures per se
- eat veggies. WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

phew! i hope nakahelp ako maye. that's the things na i can remember from our lessons...:)

@ jenn: maybe.. kase diba like what i've posted, nde maganda sa body natin ang kulag at sobra...
kase what i've learned lang is yung mga may nutritional deficiencies. im not sure but i'll try to check it on  my books.
