Chapter 24: Mama Mia
“Darn it,” Lynielle hissed inwardly. He can’t believe the man had the guts to pretend they didn’t know each other. He has trying to calm himself but every time Andrew’s grinning face flashes in his mind, he wanted to turn back and punch him in the face. The only reason he keeps on going is the innocent woman beside him. isa pa ito sa nagpapasakit ng ulo niya. Why was Andrew talking to her? Not to mention, what are they talking about? It must have been a coincidence, but knowing Andrew, coincidence is just a word.
He is really furious. Andrew and he were rivals since they first saw each other, since they fall in love with the same girl.
Lynielle turn the car around the corner and stop in front of their house. He didn’t move and so is Sanisha. He took a lung full of air; he wanted to calm himself before he went inside the house. he balled his fist that was on top of his legs. The next that happened was totally unexpected. He felt a hand over his. He looked down and saw Sanisha’s gentle fingers touching his paling knuckles. He shifted his gaze and looks straight in her eyes.
“You’re shaking is there anything wrong?” she asked full of anxiety.
Lynielle look back at his hands and true enough he is shaking, shaking with anger.
“I’m fine,” he mumbled. Akala niya tatahimik na ito ulit, but the next thing she did shock the hell out of him. She lean closer and wrap her arms around him. Dahil sa gulat, hindi siya nakapag-react agad. The hug was soothing and full of assurance. Her body felt so fragile and soft against his. He felt so warm and secure. Little does he notice was that his body is starting to relax. The shaking started to subside. His heart started growing crazy, his breathing heavy. He could feel every muscle in his body tensing. Before he could do something he’ll regret he gently push her away. Lynielle was glad Sanisha doesn’t notice anything.
“Ah . . . Lynielle,” she cought his attention again.
“Pasensya ka na. Sorry talaga hindi ko sinasadyang gisingin ka kanina. I should have asked Nana Leng bago ko gumawa ng kung anu-ano.” Sanisha was busy playing with his fingers while she was talking.
“No, ako ang dapat humingi sayo ng tawad. I shouldn’t have shouted at you like that. Bago ka lang dito wala ka pa masyadong alam. I’m sorry I acted like a fool.” Sanisha looked sideways to meet Lynielle’s eyes.
“Bahay mo yun, karapatan mong magalit. Nagging masyado lang talaga kong sensitive.” Lynielle shook his head.
“Babae ka, only fools do that, and I admit I have been a fool. I’m sorry.” She saw sincerity in his eyes. how could she not accept such apology. She nodded her head as smile sprad on her face.
“We should go nagugutom na ko.” “Yeah ako nalang magbubukas ng gate Lynielle,” she sighed.
He watches her from his car. Her every movement, even the simple tucking of her hair seems so full of grace. Has she always been like that? Or did he just notice it now? But why? Meron pang isa, he just couldn’t name it. He has some idea but he knows they were all absurd.
He started the engine again to park the car inside.
And they both watch a woman running towards them.
“Ma, what are you doing here?” he burst out of shock.
“I heard a very good news from your dad last night. Hindi na nga ko makapaghintay makita ka eh!” Lynielle’s mom answered cheerfully. After that she turns her attention toward her.
“Are you Sanisha hija?” Sanisha only nodded. She was beyond shock to answer. She can’t really believe na nasa harapan na niya ngayon ang mama ni Lynielle. She swallowed hard.
Another deafening scream escaped her lips, kasabay nun ang pagyakap nito sa kanya. She looks at Lynielle to silently asking for his help.
“Ma ano ba nasasakal na siya,” pigil nito sa kanyang ina.
“Ay sorry natuwa lang ako. Hindi talaga ko makapaniwala eh. Napag-usapan niyo na ba ang kasal? I cannot believe you hide something like this to me, Lynielle” Mrs. De Guzman said looking a little hurt.
“Ma anong pinagsasabi mo, at please tigilan mo na si Sanisha,” pigil ni Lynielle sa kamay ng ina nito na nakapulupot sa braso niya.
“But seriously hijo kailan ang kasal?” Sanisha’s eyes bulge out in shock. Kasal? She was glad when Lynielle took her hand from his mothers grasp.
“Ma pwede ba! ni hindi ka pa nga niya kilala eh kasal na agad ang bukang bibig mo.”Lynielle shook his head in disbelief.
“Sanisha this is my mother, Patsy De Guzman. Ma this is Sanisha.” Sanisha smile nodded.
“Nice meeting you po ma’am,” “Anong ma’am, ma’am hindi ko yata yan matatanggap. Call me mommy ok?” Sanisha gaze at Lynielle to ask him what to do. When Lynielle nodded to her, she return her gaze to his mom and smile.
