The Mortal Instruments
« on: March 04, 2010, 08:53:38 pm »
Has anyone read this book? I swear to god it's awesome. It follows the story of Clary Fray, who is suddenly dragged into a world of Shadowhunters and her mother's past. I recommend people who like action, suspense, and a slight bit of romance to read this. The books are godly, I swear. It's reminiscent of Harry Potter, Holly Black's faerie series, beginning with Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale. Also, the characters Val and Luis from Valiant : A Modern Tale of Faerie appear in another scene in that book. Within Holly Black's third book, Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale, there is a reference to the Mortal Cup mentioned in the Mortal Instruments series.

The books in the series are currently just City of Bones, City of Ashes and City of Glass, in that order. There is an upcoming book to be released on March 2011.

You can buy City of Bones and City of Ashes paperback at P354.00. City of Glass is still in hardbound, so it's priced higher at P649.00 - but as I've said, they're worth it.

Oh by the way, did I mention there'll be a movie in 2012? Vote now, ladies. Who do you want your Jace Wayland to be? Alex Pettyfer, or William Mosely? I'm rooting for Alex.

In case you want to know more about the Mortal Instruments, refer to these websites.

So ladies, screw Edward and Jacob. Presenting, Simon Lewis and Jace Wayland. <3

I got my copy of the first book at Barnes and Nobles the other day.

I started reading it last night. The first few pages were a bit slow as any other book but it's starting to pick up.

It tends to happen, really. When I first got the book, I honestly thought I wouldn't finish reading it. .__.;;

I bet they'd get together in City of Glass. But seriously, the ending of Ashes... you'd be... raging.

I finished City of Ashes last night and i was vexed that Simon didn't die! Grrr i don't like him one bit and as for Jace, i was really disappointed in him.

Any who, i'm currently working on City of Glass.
