UP or Ateneo?
« on: February 06, 2010, 12:24:04 pm »
I'm having a hard time deciding on which school to choose. Can you guys help me decide?

UP: More freedom (medyo ma-protesta kasi ako at rebelde. HAHA); Low tuition fee
Ateneo: Konti lang kasi ang pumapasa; My dream school; Kaso mahal ung tuition fee

Can you guys tell me how it's like in UP/Ateneo? Co-curricular activities, Orgs, Rules and Regulations, schoolmates, community, environment, etc? HELP. Thanks :)

Like they said, UP is UP.
Mahirap makapasa, daming nag-aapply, Philippines' best univ.
But kung rebellious ka and tlgng mas gus2 daw makilala ang mundo, dyan ka na.

Ateneo, whoa, my dream school.
Kaya konti pumapasa kasi konti din nag-aapply.
Mahal kc & standards are too high.

Depend it on your course na lang, 'tol.  8)

Mahirap makapasa

...at mahirap din makalabas. Haha!

Nasa ganyang situation din ako dati. Now I'm in my 3rd year in UPd. Haha! I think that helps tho. You'd be streetsmart by the time you graduate. :))

Siguro maganda kung magkaroon ka ng campus visits, just so you'd know how going around the campuses feel like.  ;)

Sa UP samin, andaming nakapasa. Less than 5 ata pumasa ng Ateneo. Kaya medyo parang naguguluhan ata ako bakit ganun? Haha.

Thanks for the info! Grabeee. Di ko talaga alam. I guess I'll consider the campus visits some time. But I don't have too much time. Haha. Sana magawa ko. :D

I'll be show you around! (+ libreng isaw) Haha! :P

Wow congratulations ! :)

Well, for me... I was in the same position last 2008. I picked Ateneo. It was my dream school too. Although I kind of regretted it at one point, ngayon, I'm really glad I went to Ateneo kahit one year lang.

I studied and lived in the Ateneo (proud dormer !) and it's the best year ! It's a great campus... maaliwalas kasi andaming puno. The buildings are quite far apart though... so running from one class to another was kind of though considering the 10-minute break between classes. Lalo ka kapag magkabilang dulo yung magkasunod mong class. ;D

Wala akong masyadong masasabi sa UP kasi di naman ako pumasok doon. Pero sabi nga nila, it's UP. I mean, I think they're tough because they're from UP, which I think is reasonable. Matatalinong teachers pa. :)

Try going to the Ateneo Open House, tignan mo kung magugustuhan mo yung lugar. Bago ka pumili ng school, tignan mo kung magugustuhan mo yung campus... kailangan gusto mo yung campus kasi doon ka for the next 4 to 5 years.

It had to be you.

I chose Ateneo because I really wanted to go there. I passed five schools but Ateneo lang talaga ang sinisigaw ng puso ko. LOL. I did not want to go to UP din kasi. It was either Ateneo or DLSU. Also, Ateneo is just 15 minutes away from our house. I am also enjoying a full scholarship here, unlike in DLSU na half lang. Tsaka I really love the environment and the people. Lovely. <3

Tingin mo, may pagasa kaya akong makapasa? :|

Hi lovely! Of course you'll make it. :) Puso lang. I graduated with 8th as my rank. Our 1st (or 2nd?) honorable-mention also took the ACET, and she did not pass. Some students also took the ACET, and I was the only one in our batch who passed the ACET. I spent all my nights reviewing for ACET, napabayaan ko na nga studies ko nun eh. :|"

LOL. Kaya mo yan. ACET is the most challenging and the most difficult to pass, most difficult to pass than the UPCAT, kasi sobrang unti lang ng pinapasa sa ACET. :) DO GOOD, GIRL.

depende na rin sa course mo...

and i agree na mas mahirap makapasa sa ACET...

I agree. I have many friends before who took courses and campuses that are very easy to pass. For example, most of them went to UPB because the cut-off is lower than UPD. They all transferred to UPD the next year. :)
