What's prom like?

Hi I just wanna know what proms are like, I'm in an all girl school so chances of me going to a prom are way out of the question but i just wanted to know do you have to always dance with your partner? I mean, what if you're a lousey dancer? what else? how were your proms? and do they have proms in universities? and such?

Hello  I am kinda curious about proms too since my parents dont want me to go to stuffs like that . Sooo...I never really had a chance even though I am in a Public school! And this was like my Senior year  ...so kinda...i know what you feel!

Am gonna answer your question base on what my friends told me
Even you have a partner,you can also dance with other people who asked you too or you asked too. And nobody is a lousy dancerWhen you are there and felt the music,your feet would magically move(just dont get nervous)
I don't think if there are proms in universities...xD
oh well if there is,I cannot go too T_T
i know I havent helped much on your question but I hope one day,both of us will have a chance to go to prom! ^^

Prom is just like any other party except ofcourse that all of you are wearing formal attires. You can go to a prom with or without a date. Either way, masaya naman.  There's a program syempre. Tapos merong turning over ng responsibilities from senior to junior. Meron ding class prophecy and class history. You also have dinner. Then ayun na. Sayawan na. You can have disco music or the sweet songs. You can spend the night with your friends, or with your date. Meron ibang tao na umuupo lang sa seat pag prom and I don't get them. Masaya kasi if you're dancing. And while dancing, syempre kapag sweet songs kilig moments if you're with a special someone.  It's also a time para makilala mo ang mga guy classmates mo. Kasi kapag nagsasayaw kayo, you talk diba. I hope you get the picture. :]

masaya ung prom, bonding un ng batch. and also it's a formal party, kung may date ka you can dance with him.her. pero pwede din na sumayaw with other people lalo na pag ininvite ka. tas dun din ung prom queen and king. pati ung sa faculty. its really na twice in a lifetime experience [kasi senior and junior prom]. haha.

i just wanna ask some advices to have a great and memorable prom..3rd year plang ako and it'll be my first time. i have lots of questions like what should i wear, how should i look like, etc. my parents said, wag ako kabahan at fourth year ang main attention but i still want to be at my best and look good ..

Prom is a formal social gathering.

If it is a JS Prom, its a formal ceremony of turning-over the responsibilities of the seniors to the juniors. Meron ding prophesy (tama ba spelling?) for the senoirs from the juniors. It contains prediction ng mga juniors kung ano ang mangyayari ng mga seniors after 10 years at meron ding last will & testament from seniors to juniors.

In this event, you'll learn paano makipagsalamuha/interact sa ibang tao.

Meron ding sayawan. Formal ito. Depende kung anong pinag-usapan ng school niyo. Sa amin kasi, tango & waltz. Meron nagsasabing its baduy cause its formal, pero base on my experience & my other classmate's experience, its very enjoyable to dance like this. kahit formal siya. its not a baduy talaga. Promise!

If all-girls/boys ang school niyo, I think kayo ang maghahanap ng prom date, but in our case, our school is Co-ed (boys & girls), ang mga 3rd year boys ay i pe-pair with 4th year girls and vice versa.

Prom is an unforgettable experience of every students life.

Me and my best friends have been dreaming about prom since . . . forever. I always read magazines, books or stories and people say that prom's romantic and all that. But I think my vision of my own perfect prom is:

* All of my batchmates are having fun together as one family
* All of the enemies have made up
* No fuss on my prom dress


And most of all . . . .
my longtime crush will like me more than a friend . . . haha!!

Well being noticed is the key, and i don't mean by being loud or acting silly or showing desperation to be noticed just be yourself maybe dress in a cool way (yet you feel comfortable in it) and talk to people around you (not randomly) when you have a chance like by discussing something or sumtin ;p

I will be a Junior this year but I think we'll have the prom on our Senior year. ugh. Dx Some of my ates on higher years said that it was sooo exciting and fun. And in ours there is the " Ladies Choice " in which the ladies have the chance to have a dance to whoever she likes!
