Hello teentalkers.

I'm sure lahat tayo nakabasa or nakakita sa news kung ano ang nangyari sa Haiti.

This country is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere (the part of the world that covers North America, Central America, and South America)

It's feared that close to 100,000 people could be feared dead as a direct result of the earth quake and thousands more could be dead or dying right now due to the lack of basic supplies like medicine, food and shelter.

Let us pray for them, pray for their salvation, pray for their safety, pray for their recovery, and most of all, let us pray that they may not lose hope in these troubled times.

they greatly need all the help they could get, material, emotional, psychological, and most importantly spiritual.

when we ourselves are suffering too, when we complain of heat, or of discomfort, or of traffic jams, or of slow service, let us all offer these trifles to our Lord with the intention of being at one spirit with the People of Haiti whose suffering is far greater  than ours.

Of course, you can practically help by donating to your local Catholic Parish. The CBCP (Catholic Bishop's Conference of the Philippines) have declared that all parishes nationwide are to have second collections, which will then be used for essential stuff that will be sent to Haiti, which is, afterall, a predominantly Catholic  Nation too.

Let us set aside differences and show solidarity and Christian Love to our fellow Christian Brothers who are undergoing great pain.

Let us also pray for the soul of the Archbishop of Port-Au-Prince (Capital City) Monsignor Joseph Serge Miot who unfortunately was one of the victims of this terrible, terrible tragedy.

It's really sad.

There's a local family who is adopting a 10 year old boy from Haiti. They have heard that he's safe but they don't know his whereabouts. A few years ago, they also attempted to adopt a baby from Haiti, but he passed away before he could even come to America. They have a 3 year old Haitian son and a 6 year old Chinese daughter. I've baby sat for them once and they have such big hearts. I hope they can bring their son home.
Ephesians 5:1-2
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love just as Christ loved us and gave himself up forus as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God

That was so sad! I first heard this news on radio while I was staying in a dorm. Grabe. Na-shock ako at first, after that sunod-sunod na ipinakita sa TV. Always pray. Hindi natin alam kung kelan at saan ang susunod trahedya.  :(
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow! =)
