Touchscreen Phones with WiFi.. Any recommendations?
« on: November 24, 2009, 02:04:22 am »
Hi! Can anyone recommend a good touchscreen phone that has WiFi? I was thinking of buying Samsung Star or maybe iPhone... Any thoughts on this one?

Samsung star nalang. My sister has one. Okay naman siya though sabi ko mukha lang siyang china phone  ;)

Iphone naman, is madali masira mga apps. Ilang months palang sira agad iphone ng boyfriend ko.

Sabi nga nila madaling maghang ang iPhone tsaka problematic and BT. Ok daw ang Samsung Star. Nasa mga 11k siya tapos mas astig ang touchscreen kesa sa Nokia 5800 :)

Samsung Star - wifi

my mom has one and she's very much contented with it.  :)

i think it 10,690 sa mismong samsung..

YES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ko eto..  :)

i have one kaso ung walang wifi..

if gusto makisabay sa trend this is a good phone..
although medyo mahirap mghanap ng applications..
but heck nasa "searching" powers lang yan..  ;D

and mabilis ang keypad response..   :)
walang flash pala camera nito..  :(
but that's the only down side.. and maganda "editing" features nito.. para kang may built in na photoshop..

iphone
pinaka SAKIM na phone na nakita ko! bawal mg bluetooth sa iba!
base sa mga friends ko..
kapwa iphone ka lang makakapagsend ng files..
and that's a very NO NO for a phone..  >:(

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts! :)

Per crowd's recommendations, I finally got myself a new Samsung Star WiFi Phone. I bought mine from Greenhills since I found out more accessible to me. I got a good deal, I think for 10,000 pesos for a brand new Star in Soft Pink. I paid an extra 100 pesos for that plastic silicon case.

My rating? :) I give it a 9.5/10 for the design, performance, features and for its being userfriendly. I love the color of the case. It's just a subtle pink that's good for girly girls :) Screen is pretty easy to use, not as less responsive as the Nokia 5800 and how crisp and bright the LCD is :)

I found it quite hard to create messages at first because I have to use the virtual keyboard but sending a few messages quite made me used to it. I have small fingers so using the QWERTY version wasn't so hard either.

I love the Smart Unlock feature wherein you have to draw a specific character to unlock the screen. My phone's in a casing so it's always hard to press the unlock button. The Smart Unlock feature saves me from all this trouble.

Camera resolution is quite disappointing. Although its a 3.2 megapixel phone like my other Samsung, it does not have auto-focus, macro option, and flash. Normally pictures come out little blurry and not as crisp and bright as with my other phone.

Wifi is pretty decent for such a portable item. I can easily connect to my home's router but found it hard to do it in Wifi hotspots. I can surf the web, Youtube in particular. I can easily check and respond to very urgent emails too :) Though with some sites, it might require some extra tapping since the browser does not respond well as in a regular computer. But for a Wifi b/g, thats ok :)

I myself highly recommends this phone :) I love this phone to death :) Thanks everyone :)

I have to agree with you SIS! Apple iPhone sucks bigtime! My friend is already planning to ditch hers because she is having a hardtime texting. The phone comes in QWERTY only with no included stylus at all. No applications are installed. She cannot connect to WIFI. And Bluetooth is for iPhone to iPhone only. WHAT the heck?!

i think i prefer umm, Samsung Star. My sister has it, or if you want non-touchscreen, you could buy the Samsung Omnia. It has Wi-Fi with Qwerty Keypad :D
