Is this what religion is supposed to be?

Would it still be okay to have faith in a merciful and compassionate God  through a religion that does not tolerate mercy and compassion?

Francis, remember what I talked about zealots in religion? this is exactly what happens when they run the show. They mandate that religious laws are everything in their society up to the point that they disregard what is legal and moral or what is covered in the human rights laws
You shall no longer take things at second or third hand nor look through the eyes of the dead, nor feed on the spectres in books
You shall not look through my eyes either nor take things from me
You shall listen to all sides and filter them from yourself

And that is why we both find ourselves, ironically, on the same side! This is just crazy!

Faith in God regardless of religion is dangeous, which is what i've been proclaiming with a voice that is unfortunately weak and futile.

well you can look at it this way. You embraced religion for its righteous side, I have forsaken it because of its immoral side.

Well, what is the harm in trying  to accept both realities?

Coz I did, and it has not in anyway affected my faith in the God who was never responsible for the sin of the world.
