hmmm, that is a big problem indeed.

Being able to communicate effectively is a valuable skill to have. May I suggest you find people whom you can 'practice' talking to so you can become better at conversing. Or maybe look into enrolling in English and Public speaking courses so you can improve.

I suggest you read. :) it's really effective. It widens ones vocabulary. Then try mo din mag - practice in front of the mirror talking. Hahaha! This sounds weird, pero i did this one. It works! :)

Try to read books. Also, try to have some practice, para pagdating po sa school, hindi ka na po mablablanko in expressing your thoughts. Also, try to gain help and confidence from friends. They might help you. :)

i also have a problem when it comes into public speaking. I love reading books and so far okay naman ang vocabulary ko but whan it comes sa confidence, wala na. So eto lagi akong "panic mode" kapag may activity na something to do with public speaking.

That is in their heart,
And to sing it to them
When they have forgotten.

Sis Nicz, why don't you try to enroll in Public speaking courses? As you said, you don't have problems with vocabulary, so it is not a diction/grammar issue. Can it be that you're just not confident enough to speak in front of a crowd? Try niyo mag-enroll sa AHEAD, they have English Speaking courses wherein it's required to speak up in front of your classmates. Your diction will also improve because as they say, what's the point of being confident of speaking out loud when half of what you're saying is not pronounced properly? Good training, not only for public speaking events, but also for one-on- one interviews, etc!  ;)

so you mean etemporaneous speaking, to be exact? :) Kasi ako, i love public speaking -- as in declaiming, orating, delivering speeches -- but am not as good with extempo. Impromptu kasi eh... Thoughts are jumbled and nakaka-mental block talaga.
Read read read read (current events, novels, history, science, news, politics, etc) to have ample knowledge and thoughts so you could have a say about anything under the sun. It surely helps.
