I started to be like Ariel who don't have the chance to talk to them
and about to what I have seen..


I want to find a beast who will soon become a prince...


..the one who will treat me like Wendy
and will take me to Neverland..

..the one who will make me ride in his flying carpet
because I'm his Jasmine..

..the one who will save me
from the evil works of the witch...


I know someday, my prince will come...

I know someday, he will drop by in front of me
with his beautiful white horse and take me to his castle...

I know someday, ALL these dreams of mine will turn into reality...

I know that I will have my own happy ending...

This is the first chapter of my story. Sana magustuhan niyo. Sorry kung nagsimula ng English na biglang magta-Tagalog. Hehe!

CHAPTER ONE: ONCE UPON A DREAM

Here I am in hotel room, preparing myself for this ball my family has prepared for my 18th birthday. I'm wearing this white ball gown that makes me feel like a princess. Well yeah, I'm a princess because I'm named Princess. But I prefer myself to be called Pam (short for Princess Antoinette Madrigal). I sometimes hate my name because it's so royal when you hear it, that's why I wanted to be called Pam. Anyway, here I am, wearing this white ball gown, and oh! with a mask because this party has a masquerade theme. My parents really planned for this "elegant" party even though I just want this to be a simple one.

After 10 minutes, tinawag na ako ng Event Organizer at magsisimula na ang party. Well syempre, ako ang celebrant kaya may procession pa. Kung bakit ba naman kasi ginawa pang sosyal ang birthday ko, pwede namang hindi, di ba? Pero sa bagay, once in a lifetime lamang ito kaya pwede na rin.

Heto na ako, nasa may hagdan na at malapit nang bumaba. Ang dami ng tao, mga naka-maskara din sila. Magandang tingnan, actually. Hinahanap ko noon ang mga friends ko hanggang sa kumaway itong si Athena. Ayun, nakita ko na sila, nasa right corner, malapit sa center table (which is for me).

Naglalakad na ako pababa. Syempre nag-iingat dahil baka matapakan ko ang gown ko. Oops! Wala akong escort sa kadahilanang iyon lang ang ni-request ko sa magulang ko. Ayaw ko lang talaga ng may escort dahil hindi ako komportable. Wala naman akong kapatid na lalaki (dahil only child ako) at wala din akong pinsan na kaedad ko. Gusto ko lang talaga, ka-level ko, if ever mayroon. Pero ayaw ko nga, kaya wala akong escort. I'm such a weird debutante.

I'm walking in the aisle, smiling at the people who I can't recognize. May ilang familiar faces pero hindi ko pa rin kilala, dahil bukod sa naka-mask sila, hindi ako gaanong nakiki-socialize sa kanila because most of my visitors were invited by my parents. Friends and relatives lang talaga ang nakikilala ko sa kanila. Nakita ko ang cute kong pinsan na si Ernest (4 years old) at lumapit sa akin tapos sinabayan nya akong maglakad. Ang cute talaga ng batang ito. Hehe!

When we reached the center, bumalik na si Ernest sa upuan nila (sa may unahan lang naman). Siya tuloy yung parang naging escort ko sa paglalakad. Hehe! Nakatayo ako sa gitna at nagsalita na ang MC. Nagsimula ng prayer then dinner na bago sa pinaka-program.

Habang kumakain ang lahat, tinawag ako ng Mom ko at sinabing magpapa-picture daw ako sa bawat table. (Shocks! Hindi pa ako tapos kumain. ) Pumayag naman ako para makatapos agad. After kong magpa-picture, pinagpalit na nila ako ng isa pang gown para sa program. Mayroon kasing mga usual events like 18 candles, 18 roses, etc. And this time, it's a royal blue gown. Maganda siya, promise.

After kong magbihis, nagstart na ang program. I lost my appetite na, kasi naman, dami pinapagawa. Ganito ba talaga pag debutante? Hay! Heto na yung 18 candles at 18 roses na sinasabi ko. Sa 18 candles, syempre ako ang pumili. Mga friends ko ang gusto kong involved dun eh. Sa 18 roses, mga hindi ko na kilalang nilalang (haha!) Parents ko na kasi ang pumili nito. At doon natapos ang program, mabilis ba? Hehe! Kakapagod kaya!

Heto na ang hinihintay naming lahat. Well, ito lang din yata ang gusto kong part. Ang sayawan. Hehe! Well, I just really love dancing. Pareho kami ng aking best friend na si Juliet. Member nga siya ng dance troupe namin eh. Ako, hindi ako nag-audition dahil focus ako sa acads. Hanep, ang galing na nito. Hehe! As usual, puro masasayang kanta ang pinapatugtog. Siya nga pala, nagpalit na ako ng dress nyan para komportable na ako. At least, babae pa rin naman ang dating ko kahit naiilang ako sa mga lalaking hindi ko kilala.

At heto na nga ba ang sinasabi ko. Naging mellow na yung mga kanta. Ako, umupo muna ako dahil napagod ako sa kakasayaw. Kasama ko pati noon ang mga friends ko kaya hataw talaga. Hehe! Naka-mask pa rin kami ng mga panahong iyon.

Habang nakaupo ako, there is this guy who approached me.


"Pam, pwede ba kitang maisayaw?"

"Huh?" 

"Go Pam!" - sabi ni Athena habang nakatingin sa akin ang mga friends ko.


Naisip ko na lang, kilala ko ba ang mokong na ito?


"Pam? Can I have this dance?"

"Uhm, sige na nga."


Ang kantang pinapatugtog ay "Kahit Sandali" by Jennylyn Mercado. Ano ba ito? Masyadong luma at senti. I'm getting so uncomfortable. Buti na lang, naka-mask kami pareho. But who is this guy?


"Pam, ang tahimik mo."

"Ah, eh, sorry. Hindi lang kasi ako komportable. Hindi kasi ako sanay na hindi ko kilala ang kasayaw ko. Sorry ha."

"Ah okay lang. Don't worry, you'll know me when I remove this mask."


Napa-smile na lang ako without looking at him. Hindi talaga ako tumitingin sa kanya kasi nakakailang. When the music had ended, umupo na ako sa parang "throne" ko. At nabigla ako when he kneeled in front of me.


"It's nice dancing with you, Pam. Pero hindi ka na tulad ng dati na magaslaw. Naging babae ka na." (sabay giggle nya)


Then he suddenly removed his mask.

 

"I know you are shocked upon seeing me. But can we still be friends? I'll wait for you, Pam. Nasa tabi-tabi lang ako. So long, Princess." (sabay kiss sa hand ko)

 

Hindi mawala ang pagka-shock ko hanggang sa....


"Excuse me, Miss Madrigal? Are you with us?"

"Huh? Po? Haa!  Nasaan ako?"

"Nananaginip ka na naman, Miss Madrigal. Anyway, class, see you again tomorrow. Talk to me this afternoon, Miss Madrigal."

" Aww, yes sir."

"Patay na naman ako nito." Kausap ko na sina Juliet, Briana at Athena habang naglalakad sa corridor.

"Ikaw naman kasi, bakit ba natulog ka na naman sa klase? Third time na yan ah!"

"At hello girl! Second week pa lang natin dito, hindi na agad maganda ang impression sa iyo ng mga teachers."

"Oo nga naman, Pam. Hindi porke't college na tayo eh ganyan ka."

"Wooh! Itong si Athena, painosente na naman. Eh ikaw din naman. Lagi ka kasing late sa klase. Bukod sa pagpapaganda eh pagbabasa ng kwento sa cp ang inaatupag."

"Bakit? Eh maganda kasi eh."

"Teka, ako ang pinag-uusapan dito ah. Napunta yata kay Athena? Hehe!"

"Oo nga, Pam. Ay basta! Matulog ka kasi maaga ha? Ano na naman ba kasi napanaginipan mo?"

"Ah, eh. Kasi.. Ano.. Yung... "
