Bebes! <3 New update for a new character.
I'm still on the process of adding people in my story. I want to keep them low in number if possible. Anyway, you better read this and comment afterwards.

7: Spark
"Fate exists but it can only take you so far, because once you're there, it's up to you to make it happen"
The next time I opened my eyes, the sun was majestically shining at the sky. I was almost blinded by the rays that entered my room, but my sleeping position refrained it from happening. My neck and back were stiff. I didn’t move much last night? Surprising.
Rising up from the bed, I realized that my dress last night was already replaced with something more comfortable – an oversized tee and jogging pants. Atrocious thoughts spiraled on my mind. Am I that pervert now? Some dignity, Elizabeth Hopkins. You’re an elite.
“Oh. You’re already up.” I jumped back a bit from surprise. A woman around my age entered the room gracefully, a tray of oatmeal and chocolate drink in it. Her hair was of striking blond, her eyes stormy gray. She looked at me intently, as if waiting for me to burst and scream about my clothes. After an appraising look, she gave me a warm smile and placed the tray down.
“You should eat. He said you haven’t eaten anything last night. The Elders were having a meeting today in preparation for tonight.” Another weird glance from the blond girl. She sat at the bean bag and stared outside the window. Her face flashed a wistful expression. Her stormy eyes glossed over, as if seeing something unseen and ancient.
She whispered something along the lines
“I thought she would believe easily, but then her line was ancient and cannot be deceived”. What does she mean? Her aura is creeping me a bit, just like James. Are they related in any way? Her eyes shifted to my direction, and the mysterious shadow was gone.
“I’m Irene. Irene Logan. Sorry I just entered. I was a bit distracted before he rushed in our house and asked me to do some favor for him. I mean, really, is he an idiot for pulling me out of our house early in the morning without any notice. I am busy with reading a book then bam! Then when he brought me here, he just pointed me a note. A note, for Pete’s sake!” Then the Irene girl kept on complaining and babbling about he who brought her to watch over me. Whoever he is, I hope he knows I hate staying with anybody. I like being alone.
“..but it’s fine if I stay here. I have work to do here. And don’t go at the corner and look at me like I’m some lunatic who escaped from the mental hospital. Come here. I have to prepare you.” I sensed the double meaning in her last statement. Prepare? Prepare for what?
“Prepare for what?” Bravely asking, I stood up properly and give her a criticizing look. Her eyes widened, but she snapped out of her trance.
“You’ll see.” She winked before wrapping her slender hands on my wrists. They felt a bit colder than the usual, which caused the formation of goosebumps in my arms. I thought I saw her smile, but it was nothing. Whatever I’m going to prepare myself for, I could face it. If only I know about what is really behind it..

“Who is the he you’re talking about a while ago? The one you might be choking to death at this very moment if he was here?” After that bedroom scene, with Irene’s help, I finished my personal responsibilities quickly. Taking a bath, brushing my teeth, fixing my hair, eating breakfast. This girl is a tornado. I should ask her to come by often.
“He? The idiot’s Andrew.” She snorted before taking a grape between her thin lips. We’re now at the porch, waiting for another ‘he’. With the mention of Andrew’s name, my heart beat frantically. I managed to slow it down by breathing deeply.
“Oh.” I couldn’t process any coherent thought. For the nth time, she gave me a knowing look.
“Can’t believe he’ll ask someone to babysit you while he’s out, eh? Shame on that flirt. But then again, when you feel that spark..”“What spark?” Is she going romantic on me? To tell you the truth, I am no fan of any romance or another sickly movie that involves those torrid kisses. I would surely barf everything I’ve eaten if you let me watch something like that. Get a life people. Romance isn’t always about passion.
“You know. Fast heart beat. Blushing cheeks. Being tongue-tied. Denying when you’re really guilty about it. Things like that. The movies portrayed it lamely. You have to feel it first-hand to be carried away.” Rolling my eyes, I stared at the grass dancing with the wind.
“Ridiculous concept. I mean, love is mythical. Love is imaginary. There’s no proof that love exists! If it does, then everything would be fine. There would be no war and people would always be struck as if they’re in heaven.” I reasoned out. From the corner of my eye, I saw her laughing hard. My eyebrow raised in confusion.
“Defensive, Elizabeth. You have to cut some slack and look at things closer. You never know, you might be missing something really important.” Irene warned with a serious tone.
“I’ll tell you when I get there.” She rolled her eyes, but was in deep thought afterwards.
“You don’t have to tell us, ‘cause we know it before you do.” A chill ran down my spine as I hear that voice.
“Nice seeing you again, Elizabeth.” He gave me a respectful bow, which I have no idea why. Irene slapped James at his arm, but he ignored it and went for her kiss.
It’s not just some smack, or that torrid kiss when the couple would almost eat the face of their partner. It’s not some joke. With that kiss, the spark Irene was talking about was understood by an ignorant, self-centered brat named Elizabeth Hopkins. I have to face away because jealousy was creeping in me. The longing of having someone to stay with me and kiss me senseless become potent.
I have to find that spark she’s saying to me.
