Ever since the sin of Adam and Eve, there has been innate human evil; meaning, we were born with natural evil in our ways because we inherited that sinful nature.
This is why no matter how hard we try to change on our own, there will always be a time when we'll fall back into our sin; there will always be a time when we would still lie and cheat, and even make excuses for them in our head to please our conscience.
"You are of {your} father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own {nature,} for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John 8:44)
But at the same time, the Spirit of God dwells within every person He has created. You know that voice in your head that makes you think twice whenever you're doing something wrong? And those urges you have to reach out to others and to show them some love? And that desire within you to do what is right? That is the Spirit of God.
"Do you not know that you are a temple of God and {that} the Spirit of God dwells in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16)
This is why humans are imperfect, because they both have good and bad in them. Although, this is also the reason why we were given free will. We have the privilege of choosing whether we'd (A): let God's Spirit overcome our sinful nature, and grow in Him, or (B): choose the pleasures of this world (that won't even last) over Him, and continue indulging ourselves in temptations of the flesh and our worldly ways.
Now if you'd rather choose A, then you must know, that this choice is Jesus Christ.
"Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14:6)
"but through me" means there's no other way to Heaven except through Him. We are sinners; God is holy. This is why God sent Jesus on earth. This is why Jesus is the Only Way.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16)
Jesus lived His life as an example for you. He suffered every persecution, every flesh-ripping torture, every bloodshed for you. He died for you. He gave His life so that you may no longer be separated from God; so that even if you are a sinner (which you are.), you now have a Savior.
And you must also know, that with being a true follower of Jesus Christ comes great responsibility, great persecution, but also an even greater reward.
GOD BLESS you.
