It's almost 3am and I'm not yet dreaming. I am reminiscing.
It was three months ago when a guy suddenly walked up to me with the stupid-est line one could ever say to a stranger. “Hi, I’m Ely and I think I’m inlove with you.”
Honestly, all I heard was blahblahblah bullsht. It was love at first sight for him.
“Excuse me?” was all I could say.
And he went on.
“I’m really sorry, miss. May I know your name?”
“Tish.”
“Well, Tish, you know about love at first sight?”
“Uhuh.”
“I think I’ve just had that. The moment I walked into this room, I saw you and I felt butterflies in my stomach. Geez, I never thought I’d understand those morons who tell you about them. I thought it was probably constipation but I’m pretty sure I’ve been removing bodily wastes regularly and…”
I stopped him. “Too much information.”
“Oh. I’m really sorry.”
“No prob.” I stared at him as if asking, so what the hell are you still doing here?
“See…I really have to go. I’ll be late for my class but I don’t want to waste this moment. I may never find you again. Can you please please please give me your number?”
I gave him a blank stare.
“Or…i’ll just cut my class and go on stalking you the rest of this day.”
I rolled my eyes. “Fine, weirdo."
I took his hand and wrote my number in his palms. I’ll have to admit it was hard cause it was damn sweaty. I figured out that he may not text or call me at all…and that thought made me (im ashamed to admit it at that moment) sad.
As he was talking to me with his dark black hair perfectly waxed, his eyes that tell the world, his black polo shirt with the top two buttons unbuttoned, his slim denim pants and his black chucks, I felt what the morons say about butterflies in the stomach.
For me, it was love at first talk.
