Con-Ass, Cha-Cha
« on: June 05, 2009, 05:14:42 pm »
Con-Ass - Constituent Assembly (tama ba yung meaning ko :D?)  So... what's Con-Ass?

Cha-Cha - Charter Change... sa pagkakaintindi ko, babaguhin raw yung batas. i really don't understand it that much, tapos Pol. Sci. pa naman ang kinuha kong course...  ;D

do you agree in Cha-Cha?

ako, i think kailangan ring baguhin ang batas. 1987 Constitution ata ang gamit hanggang ngayon. 1987, and it's already 2009. The law should fit the needs and the situation of the Philippine society today  :D.

watcha think?  :)  0_o    *_*

two things

1) while i also agree that our constitution needs to be changed because it contains alot of loopholes, 2) the efficiency of a constitution does not necessarily depend on how long or recent it is.  ;D

America never changed its 1776 constitution but it's still efficient after 230 years, while we had 4 in the lifetime of the country, the Malolos, Commonwealth, 1972 and the Freedom Constitutions.

pero maski ganito pa man din, sa tingin ko hindi muna nararapat na magkaron ng con-ass ngayon. i smell something fishy kasi bakit before presidential elections nila gagawin? there is that serious possibility that Arroyo's term might be extended because the technicalities permit such a scenario to happen.

and i dont want her to stay.

hmm..hmmm.

"the validity of a constitution does not depend on how long or recent it is.

America never changed its 1776 constitution but it's still efficient after 230 years, while we had 4 in the lifetime of the country, the Malolos, Commonwealth, 1972 and the Freedom Constitutions."

-> oh..ok. i agree.. and maybe it really should be done after Gloria's presidency.. can't they wait?

i dont think that they can wait because making the con ass happen before the national elections is precisely the point.  :)

by the way, i changed ''validity'' to ''efficiency'' ;)

the fish is right in front of our faces, pach...hehe...the purpose of this con-ass is clear as the summer sun...not everyone is stupid enough to infer otherwise...

and yeah...ayoko na kay gloria...the thought of her possibly becoming prime minister of this country for the rest of her life gives me AH1N1 symptoms...hahhaha..

Yeah. I smell something fishy too. If they want a charter change, do it after the elections.

Sa totoo lang, i don't really get their point..
yeah, na bakit nga ba nila babaguhin before presidential elections...
pero sa tingin ko, kaya ang daming against dito is because...
majority are against cha-cha and con-ass
ilang taon na yan, pero wala din...
and mas napapansin 'pag malapit na ang election..

pero hindi ko talaga alam kung ano at para saan pa 'to...
pero i think these two are for individual's purposes >.<

^Yes, obvious nga. Parang planado lahat eh, the merger tapos sinundan agad ng con-ass at obviously MINADALI talaga lahat.

hmmmmmmm....
bakit pa kelangan ng con-ass/cha-cha at this time?

Maaan! this is too much!!

It is about time to re-think our constitution and remedy the defects in some of them. It is about time, too, to reflect on changing the kind of government we presently have. What I do not agree, however, is the timetable. We are at the end of Arroyo's term, well...almost at the end of her term. Changing the form of government at this point raises a lot of doubts as to the real reason, maybe intentions of one or several people who stand to benefit the change.

It did not work in Ramos' time, I seriously doubt if it can work in Arroyo's.
