SUDDEN CHANGE
3rd Setting: St. Miriam High School, September 19 Friday, 4pm Pagkatapos ng CAT, nag-stay muna ang barkada sa kanilang classroom dahil may practice para sa nalalapit na inter-section. After one and a half hours…Class President: Okay guys, break muna tayo. After 15 minutes, from the top ulit then dismiss na.
After a few minutes, Chris approaches Kim…Chris: Uhmm, Kim?Kim: Bakit?Chris: Uhmm. Kasi, ano… Uhhh. I just wanted to ask you now, can you be my gerr – Nang biglang..Chris: Aray naman!Baron: Kasi naman sina Ken oh!Ken: 
Anong ako?! Si D –Chelsea: Ang gugulo niyo kasi, para kayong mga bata! Nagtuturuan pa kayo. Kung mag-sorry nalang kaya kayo?Baron: Cool ka lang Chels. *beautiful eyes* Chris, Chris, sorry na. *sabay hawak sa ulo ni Chris*Chris: Ano pang silbi ng parak kung may sorry sorry naman, ha? 
Nagtinginan na lang lahat sabay nagtawanan. Kim: Ano ka, si Jun Pyo? 
Baron: Oo, at ikaw daw ang Jan Di niya. 
Others: Yieeee! Sobrang cheesy!
Chris: *namumula* Ewan ko sa inyo!Class President: Guys! Let’s start from the top.
Pagkatapos ng practice, sa kanilang pag-uwi..Kim: Chris! Ano ulit yung sinasabi mo sakin kanina?Chris: Ahh, yun.Lumuhod si Chris sa harap ni Kim and out of nowhere, naglabas siya ng rose at binigay ito kay Kim…Chris: Ms. Kimberly Ocampo Gonzales, in front of our classmates, I would like to take this opportunity to ask you… Can you be my girlfriend?Classmates:
Kim: Classmates:
*naghihintay ng sagot ni Kim*
Kim: Of course I’ll be your girlfriend! 
And with that, everything changed. They hugged and at last, they were a couple.
4th Setting: Mount Groove Ville, Hernando’s Residence, October 1 Wednesday, 5:30pmPagkauwi ni Chris after school…Yaya: Sir, tumawag po pala kanina ang dad niyo. Hindi daw po niya macontact ‘yung cellphone niyo eh.
Chris: Lowbatt kasi ako. Anong sabi?Yaya: Tawagan niyo raw po siya agad.
Chris: Ah, sige. Salamat, ya. Pumunta siya agad sa kwarto niya, chinarge ang kanyang cellphone, at tinawagan ang kanyang mom.*On the phone*
Chris: Dad, napatawag daw po kayo kanina?Dad: Yes. I need you to pack things, magdala ka rin ng isang formal attire. We’ll be out of the country for 4 days and 3 nights. Hindi na kami uuwi ng mom mo tonight. Puntahan mo na lang kami dito sa ‘Hotel de Alabang’.Chris: Ngayon na po?Dad: Yes. Chris: Bakit po parang biglaan?Dad: We too didn’t expect this to happen soon. Just pack your things and get going.Chris: Okay, Dad. Bye.Inihanda na ni Chris ang kanyang mga gamit nang medyo kinakabahan. Hindi niya kasi maintindihan kung bakit ganun na lang ang tono ng dad niya na hindi naman gaya ng dati. Pagdating niya sa hotel, pinuntahan na niya ang hotel room kung saan naka-check in ang parents niya.Chris: *kisses his parents in the cheek* Ano po bang nangyayari?Mom: Can we talk about this later? Dinner’s ready.
Habang kumakain sila, napansin ng mommy ni Chris na may gumugulo sa kanyang isipan..Mom: What’s wrong, Chris?
Chris: It’s nothing.Mom: If you’re worrying about you missing school, it’s only 2 days. You can easily keep up with your lessons. And besides, it’s not your exam week, is it?
Chris: No, katatapos lang po ng exam week namin. I’m just wondering what this is all about. Why too sudden?Dad: All your questions will be answered tomorrow.
Mom: For now, calm yourself, eat up, and then go get some sleep, son.
Dad: Wake up at 7am. 10:30 ang flight natin.
Kinabukasan, habang nagbibihis si Chris...Dad: What are you doing?!
Chris: Uhmm. I’m getting ready, Dad.Dad: Change into your formal attire! Business meeting ang pupuntahan natin hindi mall.
Chris: Oh, sorry. (Ahhh. So may kinalaman pala ‘to sa business.)Nag-check out na sila at umalis at exactly 8:30 in the morning. Habang nasa sasakyan…Chris: Ma, san po ba talaga ang punta natin?Mom: We’ll be flying to Singapore.
Chris: Why?Mom: The deal was a success, son.
Chris: What deal? You mean – Mom: Between Lopez and Associates and Hsien Loong Media.
Note: Hsien Loong Media is the biggest media company in Singapore.Chris: Really? That’s great! Congratulations! Although I’m not quite sure what the deal is all about. But why am I supposed to be there too?Dad: That’s a surprise! Be patient, Chris.
They arrived at Singapore after 3 hours. Sinundo sila sa airport ng EA ng Hsien Loong Media kasama ng iba pang mga tauhan ng kumpanya.EA: Welcome to Singapore, Mr. Hernando.
Dad: Thank you. I brought my wife and my son with me.
EA: I see. The future “first” family of the company is present.
Chris: Future “first” family?EA: Mr. Hernando, let us lead you to the main office.
Dad: Okay. Chris, I told you to be patient.
Chris: Sorry, Dad.Bago sila dalhin sa main office ay ibinaba muna ang mommy ni Chris sa isang five star hotel para doon na muna mag-stay.Chris: Dad, bakit hindi kasama si Mommy?Dad: You know how much your Mom hates meetings, Chris.
Chris: Oh, right.Nakarating na sila sa main office ng Hsein Loong Media. Dumiretso agad sila sa conference room kung saan naghihintay ang “big bosses” ng kumpanya at mga abogado. Pagpasok nila, pinaupo sila sa kanilang designated seats. Nandoon si Hsien Loong Zhen, ang kasalukuyang may-ari ng kumpanya.EA: Good afternoon, everyone. We are here to officially sign the contract between Lopez and Associates and Hsien Loong Media. Now, everybody’s given a copy of the contract to be signed.
Pinirmahan na nga ng lahat ang kontrata at pagkatapos ay nagsalita si Mr. Hsien Loong...Zhen: I am glad to officially appoint Mr. Hernando, a partner of Lopez and Associates, as the new CEO of Hsien Loong Media. Congratulations, Mr. Hernando.
Dad: Thank you, Mr. Hsien Loong. I am much honored.
Chris’ dad delivered a short speech and after a while made an important announcement himself that shocked Chris…Dad: Gentlemen, you all know that I am the head of a big European-Philippine airline in the Philippines and as part of the contract, I must let go of that duty in order to fulfill my role as CEO of Hsien Loong Media. For that, I am proud to present to you my son, Chris Alwin, the sole heir of the Western Atlantic Airlines.
Others: *applause*
Chris: Dad: To my co-associates, I assure you that the airline will be in safe hands as I pass it on to my son, Chris. But for now, my Senior Executive, Carlos Sta. Maria, will handle the airline until Chris graduates from college.
Natapos na rin ang meeting at pinapunta na si Chris ng dad niya sa hotel. Pinadala na rin sa kanya ang isang copy ng contract para ipakita sa mom niya. Habang binabasa ni Chris yung contract, may napansin siyang papel na nakasingit sa envelope. Kinuha niya ito at nagulat siya sa kanyang nabasa. Pagdating niya sa hotel, dumiretso agad siya sa room kung nasan ang mom niya at tinanong niya ito…Chris: Mom, what’s this supposed to mean?Mom: What is it?
Chris: Application form? For college?Mom: Yes. Wouldn’t you like to go to college? *sarcastic tone*
Chris: No. I mean, yes. But why here?Mom: It’s the best school for you if you want to become fit for handling the airline.
Chris: But Mom, you never mentioned anything about – Mom: Are you seriously going to blabber about this, Chris? Whether you like it or not, you’ll be studying there. And that’s final!
