like what CokeFloat said, it's a take over ceremony. It's when the seniors pass the "key of responsibility" to the juniors who will soon be senior and be the ones to lead the school next school year.

It's not really a party or about dancing but that goes with it na ngayon..

Prom is not a party that can be participated by the freshmen and the sophomores. It is the passing of responsibility by the seniors to the juniors.
Kasi kung kasali ang 1st and 2nd years, edi sana nag-highschool night or acquaintance party na lang, diba?

yeah, hindi bagay mag prom ang mga freshies. kasi ang babata pa at di mganada tingnan kasi yung iba fresh from gradeschool pa at mukhang nene/totoy  seriously, prom are for those juniors and seniors cos they are nagmamature na talaga and they're leaving highschool behind. kaya nga may turn over ceremony sa prom eh.
at kung FS prom, anu naman gagawin dun diba? and malaking gastos yun dahil kung may FS at JS prom, edi every year nagpprom kayo. haha! wala nang thrill at excitement pa ganun.
