i can't really give good advice because i'm a shopaholic myself.

however, i sympathize.
back in elementary, i handled my money wisely.. kapag may pera ako laging malaking part, tinatabi ko as ipon. medyo ganun pa rin ako nung high school. ngayong college lang talaga ko natutong magsplurge sa kung anu-ano, esp. flipflops, SHOES, tops and bags.
i don't think you can equate being a shopaholic to being materialistic.. well, opinion ko lang pero iba kasi talaga yung materialistic. it means na mas nagpapahalaga ka sa mga bagay na "material" kesa dun sa "nonmaterial" stuff. you can want stuff and still care about other things, like studies, friendship, relationship, etc. ang materialistic kasi, parang reason for being mo na yung pera or yung mga bagay na may money value.
being addicted to shopping is not as easy to cure as others think. siguro ang advice ko na lang, don't carry money with you more than is necessary para kapag may nakita kang stuff na gusto mo talagang bilhin, hindi ka maggigive in kasi wala ka ngang ipambabayad. and try not to come back with the money you saved the previous day. pag ganun, dinadaya mo lang sarili mo.
it's ok to treat yourself every now and then, esp. pag may accomplishment ka or something, basta wag lang palagi. lahat ng bagay, dapat in moderation lang.
