Well, I think you have participated in the wrong thread. Because this thread is not about Apologetics. This thread is not about apologetics kaya kailangan ang respect, ok? Kaya pacenxa na kung i asked for respect. If you want a debate-like thread, well i guess that you have come to the wrong place and you need to start your own thread. ;D

Threads do "mutate" at one point or another. So if it has turned to such, then tough luck--that's how things came to be. As I've said, you ask for respect, earn it first. Go tell your pastor then to stop comparing Catholics to your church. Only then will I give you respect. If you can't do that, then no go.
More honourable than the Cherubim, and far glorious beyond compare than the Seraphim. Without defilement, you gave birth to God the Word. True Theotokos, we magnify you.

I'm not comparing Catholics to Born again Christians. You are the one who's comparing your beliefs to ours. You are just making the topic more complicated.

Did I say you're the one? Please reread what I posted.

And something of interest for pinkblue, since she makes the claim she only learns by reading the Bible: http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=276917 13 posts and no reply yet (but then the thread's still rather young, so give it time. Sooner or later Prots will come to post, eventually  ;D). As I've mentioned, Apologetics is not for the faint-hearted (you'll get called out time and again, especially if people notice you are simply avoiding the issue).

in milliardo's defense....you born again christians are flaunting you being saved because you are born again, while everyone else is going to hell.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.

ok. pero i really think that you are expressing your opinion about apologetics in the wrong thread. Ginagawa mo lang na excuse na "threads sometimes mutate into each other". haha. what a lame excuse.  ;D You are just making the topic more complicated. Ano ang konek ng apologetics sa thread na ito?  :P

apologetics is a discipline that Catholics like us study so that we could explain the right and proper understanding of the Christian Faith.

And this is the reason why Apologetics is very much relevant to what Milliardo and you are talking about since your conversation involves matters understanding the Faith.  :)

oh, and by the way, what he is expressing is not ''opinion'' because to do Apologetics requires a critical inquiry and an objective look into the Teachings of Christ, through the Bible.

properly speaking, apologetics means "in defense of one's religious beliefs'' and that is why there's what we call 'catholic apologetics', 'protestant apologetics', 'INC Apologetics'.

even the very act of explaining your beliefs regarding Christ could be considered doing 'apologetics'.

just don't get afraid of the term, it's new i know. pero the bottom line is, apologetics is anythign that has to do with explaining the your faith (be it catholic, protestant, mormon) to another person whose views run counter to yours.  :)

so it's not just milliardo who's doing apologetics. the mere fact taht you're explaining your side and defending your beliefs, then that my friend is called "apologetics"

have a nice day, sister.  :)

"For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life"

for me, if we believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him ias our savior.. and if we repent our sins and follow God's commandment, we will be save

ayan pa ay ayon sa aking paniniwala :D

..anyways, please po stop na yung pagtatalo/pag dedebate because it is not a Christian thing to do.. please stop critizing someone's faith.. or pag naman may nagcicritize ng faith mo, hayaan mo lang sila.. hindi maganda na nagtatalo-talo tayo dahil kay God.. :-[

Magkakaiba man ng paniniwala and ng religion, iisa lang din naman yung God na pinaniniwalaan natin :) kaya stop na sana yan

shake hands na :) bati bati na :)

Although that is a nice sentiment, early Christianity grew because of debates and discussions like this. For instance, the discussion regarding the divinity of Christ was very much a great debate in the 4th century.

As pach himself explained, it has a lot to do with it. Again, as he said, the mere fact you are explaining your own side is already Apologetics. So you are engaged in it without you knowing it.  ;D

ayos na defense to ah...pagtutulungan ka, tapos pag wala na sila mabigay na substantial na argument, puro its just our freedom of religion and expression ang defense.

I don't think debating is a non-Christian thing to do. St. Paul and St. Peter debated with lots of people during their time too.
