I cant advise you what exactly you can give him kasi hindi ko naman alam ung mga like ng bf mo. It depends kung ano ung alam mo na ma a appreciate niya and alam mo na magagamit niya. I'll share you my latest surprise gift for my bf. Actually this morning ko pa maibibigay sa kanya because were both at work right now. It is not a birthday gift. He was just promoted and it will be our 3 years and 9 months this wednesday. He was kind of frustrated because pol Medina had a book signingin kaninang 4pm at powerbooks Gbelt and pupunta sana siya kasi kailangan niyang pumunta ng ofc. So what i did it I went there and grab a book and let Pol signed it with a message of congratulations from him. I'm pretty sure he will like it kasi he is a Pugad baboy collector and he love books.

uhm, i always give my kuyas and my lil' bro gifts if the days are their birthdays, or Christmas.
most often i give them watches, silver bracelets (some of them are collectors of silver accessories), t-shirts, perfume (i always buy those what they use, or a scent that's similar to what they use), and one time i gave my brother an original Spalding ball.

i never experienced giving a gift to one of my exes. hehe. but i hope this helps.
