Made a short update. Trial thing. If this works, I'd definitely continue this. Come what may.
“Hey, Lei.” I opened my eyes and immediately saw black orbs down on me. I blinked a few more times then finally was able to mutter something.
“Hey you too.” I sat up in my bed where I slept and looked at the angelic man in front of me. He looked really sexy in his rugged form and he looked munch-able, if there is such term. He tried to say something but closed his mouth instead. Then a quick flashback registered in my mind.
“Oh.” I quickly searched for words to say. “Uh… are you feeling okay? I mean, you drank lots last night. Do you want Advil?” I said, hoping he wasn’t thinking what I was thinking.
He gestured a no and knelt in front of me. Before he could say something, I quickly opened my mouth and tried to stand. “I’m gonna get some Advil.”
But his hands kept my knees in place. “…Wait. Before you do, I want to ask you something.” Long pause. “Did I say anything last night?”
One thing’s for sure. He didn’t remember anything. “Uh, kind of. Just a few things. You know, the things you say… just in a drunken state.”
He nodded. “Good. Uh, did I do anything?”
I calmed myself. He really didn’t remember anything. “Uh, nope. You didn’t…” I lied. “You just slept. That’s all. Just stay there, I’m gonna get you meds.” I patted his shoulders, gave a quick smile and headed downstairs for Advil.
Going downstairs seemed forever to me. Of course, I was thinking about the ‘I like you’ thing and the so-so ‘kiss’ thereafter. It came all of a sudden and I didn’t have any idea if those were true or not. He didn’t even remember any of it. I really wasn’t expecting anything, as in any—
“…You’re in DENIAL.” I came back to reality. It was Jordan talking to Brooke. “Oh, hey CG. Good morning.”
“Yeah, whatever. Why is he still here?”
“Because I made breakfast.” He placed two slices of toasted bread on a plate and poured brewed coffee in a mug. “Butter or jam? Milk, sugar… anything else?”
“Coffee will do, thanks.” I gave him a weak smile and faced Brooke. “What’s up, bestfriend?”
" I told Jordan that I was super drunk last night and that—”
“—Clearly drunk. Yes.” I continued the sentence for her.
Brooke laughed. “You are so my best friend, bestfriend.”
“Wait, I don’t understand. What are you two fighting about then?” I sipped some coffee.
“Jordan said I kissed him last night.” Brooke started and I saw Jordan glare at her. “Well, yes. I do remember kissing him.”
“Oh, then?”
“Now, Jordan is saying that I like him that’s why I did that. But I certainly do not. I was just d-r-u-n-k. Drunk.”
“Ouch. That last sentence really hurt.” I said for Jordan. “Can you be less rude, my dear best friend?”
“Okayyy. Maybe I like him.” Jordan smirked. “… Physical attraction, I guess. But see, I was drunk last night. And that is not really a basis for assuming that I like him.”
“Okay, stop it.” Jordan sighed. “I just said you denied that you kiss me.”
“Whatever. I know you’re just being naughty.”
“Yeah, whatever. Enough of this kissing stuff. I’ve had enough.” I said casually then drank more of my coffee. Two heads turned on me.
“Really now? Had enough kisses from who?”
“I think his name starts with L.”
Okaaayyy. “Shut up you two. I didn’t kiss him. He didn’t kiss me. I just said that we were talking too much about kissing…” They both looked at each other naughtily. “Whaaat? I am saying the truth. I didn’t kiss—”
“Kiss who?” Oh great.
I looked back and saw Lorenz. “…I didn’t kiss anyone. I’m sorry I forgot about you.” I got some Advil from the pack. “Here, take it.” I opened his palm and put the med. “I’m going upstairs.”
I sprawled myself on the bed and closed my eyes. I convinced myself that the kiss really didn’t mean anything. Maybe he liked me, but he was d-r-u-n-k, drunk… like how Brooke was. And maybe I really was in denial when I thought I didn’t expect anything, because I did. I expected that he would remember kissing me in the morning, and that we were gonna be happy. And yes, maybe I did like him too.
But after what happened, everything just got me confused.
“I’m not sure if I like him. I’m not sure if he likes me. I’m not sure if the kiss meant something…”
“Lei!” Brooke just shouted from downstairs. “Jordan’s heading home. Come down here.”
I stood. “Coming!”
“…And I’m not sure what’s gonna happen next.”
