Where do your old clothes go?
« on: June 23, 2008, 02:33:08 pm »
I just finished cleaning up my closet and I have no idea where to put the clothes which I don't wear anymore...hence the question. Gusto ko sana i-donate a la Salvation Army, but then saan ba may ganon dito na malapit and accessible?

I either give it to my younger female cousins or I donate it to our annual love drive collection. But mostly it goes to the love drive and it makes me feel so much better. :D
And no one's words are strong enough to fix what happened here.

Pag wearable pa, I donate it to our parish or my relatives who aren't well-off.

If they aren't, I cut it up for crafts/reconstruct shirts/etc.
read my story, please? (:

Yung iba sa mga pinsan ko napupunta. Kasi naman yung mga damit ko hindi ko talaga niluluma. Tapos yung iba donate na lang. Sa mga ampunan. Ang daming ampunan sa tabi. ;)

1. To my cousins in the Philippines. This is what most Fil-Ams do. (: Just put everything in a box and ship it off.

2. Salvation Army/Goodwill/Thrift stores.

3. PLATO'S CLOSET. I just recently tried this and I LOVE it. All you have to do is bring all the 2nd hand clothes/accessories/books/shoes you have (they have to be in great condition) and go to a Plato's Closet. They have them all around the U.S. The employees check each item and they PAY YOU for it. I went there last Saturday and I made $160+. It's a 2nd hand clothing store, too, so you can find a lot of brands like Hollister/Abercrombie/AE/Aero/F21/ect. for less than $10.

it depends. my younger cousin gets all the nice clothes i grew out of as i dont have any younger sisters to give them to. but i make sure they're still nice, they just wont fit me anymore

if they're not as nice and they look really dated though - i give them to charity shops Oxfam, British Red Cross, etc.

some really beat up clothes,  i recycle them. my mom cuts them up and use them as rags.

how i wish we had Plato's Closet here.
