I have a question relating to the way members fill up forms... The query of the form is WHAT DO PEOPLE SAY ABOUT YOU BEING INTELLIGENT? And it's annoying that a lot of the answers to that question resembled... bragging about your achievements. I don't know. It just bugs me.

I don't like that question, to be honest.  And I do have trouble accepting compliments along the lines of, "Wow, ang galing/talino mo naman".  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate them but... I mean, how are you supposed to react to that without coming across as "mayabang/mahangin"?

For me, the question I try to avoid as much as I can is, "Saan ka nag-aaral?"  People DO have this pre-conceived notion about UP students.  And to tell you the truth, not all of them are correct.  It makes me uncomfortable when people assume stuff about another based on where they study.  Makes me uncomfortable, is all.

Dears, I'm sorry if that question made you feel that way. Nicx, thanks for backing me up.
Heads up, I didn't ask that question for nothing. For one, PERSONAL reason. I'm looking for a mirror image. Call me whatever, but when I started this thread, I have these questions in mind - "Who among these teentalkers are with me? Who can relate to the things I've gone through?" So much for my sentiments but so far, Val (kriell21) is the only person who seems to resemble my so-called "student" life. Pressures, expectations, name it. She knows it. Maybe because we're of the same age bracket. Or maybe because, she feels for me.

Second reason: To test your confidence. I've seen the confidence in each of YOU the moment you tried to be a part of this clan. The question is: HOW confident are you? As you may notice, requirements include "leadership" awards and the like. I just want to know... enumerate it if you must. If you don't have any, so be it. We are not that strict.

Third reason: To know you more - third person point of view. As simple as that. I want to know what do people say about you and how you react to them. "How you deal with them" thingy which brings me back to reason #1.

With that question, I got what I wanted. Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression or if it made you feel uneasy/uncomfortable. It hasn't been asked to PRAISE the one with the most achievement and to HUMILIATE the one with the least. I want to RECOGNIZE all of you.  I appreciate YOU for being VOCAL about your opinions and feelings.

P.S. I just feel like that with this "INTELLIGENCE" goes some sort of "RESPONSIBILITY". OT.

i would say hindi talaga ko matalino.. nakakatulong lang yung hilig ko sa pagbabasa ng books either fiction or non-fiction.. i guess being intelligent is having the guts to express what's on your mind without hesitations (kahit hindi ka sure kung aagree sayo ang majority)..
