TITLE: TRICK OR TREAT ME A STORY:

Each member may submit/post a story related to the current season and the member who gets the most votes for his or her story at the end of the month wins. Only one story per member and the story being submitted can be fictitious, a true to life one and must be at least 300-500 words. The story can be of the following, but not limited to, slice-of-life, comedy, true to life, horror and or the usual romance. It is important that one or all of the following elements should be included in the story for it to be qualified for the entry: fear, mystery, death, the unknown or the paranormal.

All entries should be submitted to me through PM on or before November 6, 2009.
A new poll will be created to decide the winners. Voting would be open to all TEENTALKERS.

What does people say about you being intelligent?: Honestly speaking, I don't consider myself intelligent. And I'm not boasting it to anyone because I believe that every person has their own intelligence that makes them absolutely unique. They just have to discover their own intelligence. Maybe the right word is adaptable. I can easily adapt to any thing. Maybe it's because I'm talented lang talaga. Whenever my teachers appoints me to lead any activity, I do well because of my enthusiasm and passion for learning that makes them feel satisfied and yeah, say that I'm witty. And that for me is already an accomplishment.

What people say about me being intelligent: I don't boast about how intelligent I am and I don't always get awards but I do have a 4.0 grade point average, not that i'm mayabang or anything. I was in the top 20 in my recent school. Some people actually compliment me on it, especially the teachers. They have me work with the students that need extra help. You can tell me to do almost anything. I'm very adaptable. I'm also very enthusiastic. I have had straight A's the whole 3 semesters I had recently. And I had 3 honors classes, which were Language Arts(English),Mathematics, and Science. I hope that I could continue this great record in the next school year, which I will be in high school as a freshman. I am ver fluent in English, not only because I live in the U.S. but because of it's on of my best subjects.

 I don't want to utter to anyone even it was obviously that I am making lowly of myself that I have such knowledge considered to be a superiority by them. Also it had taken me 3 schools to verify my self that I am a knowledgeable person indeed because me myself wasn’t that much a believer that I am that knowledgeable to the fact that my brothers often lifts me downward to humiliation. I had ranked top1 in 3 schools without doing much such persuasive studying like the former top1 students does always to have that top1 title thing. So I don’t really much acquire myself the title of being deserving in the top 1 rank, I think I was just fortunate enough to have that ranking.

Fyi, it takes 5 brains of mine to match Einstein’s knowledge.
So I don’t really much encourage myself to accept that fact that I am derserving to be a smart because due to the fact that I don’t do much of a studying procedure except listening intensely to my educator. Also nutritional tidbit

What does people say about you being intelligent?: People are actually quite surprised that I have such high grades because apparently, I don't look like I fit the part. Despite what people say, I have held a 3.8 or better average throughout my time in school. Anyway, my parents and relatives are very proud of me and everything that I've accomplished. They push me and they expect me to be somebody later on in life. I've received many awards including "Academic Excellence in English" and I've also gotten perfect scores on my SOLs which rewarded me with certificates of congratulations from the Governor of Virginia as well as many other high ranked people. Oh, and btw, on this application, the proper term is "do" as in, "What do people say about you being intelligent?")

First TIDBIT to share: a bee sting is acidic and a wasp sting is alkali. to treat a sting by one of these you should use the opposite type of chemical.

What do people say about you being intelligent?: there is a negative and positive part of what people say.. negativething is,yeah being intelligent is good.. but most people take advantage of you.. they always rely on you on almost everything.. and another thing, pressure is so difficult.. all think i am intelligent and they think i can do everything.. they have so high expectations from me.. but the positive thing, most people think i am intelligent.. and everything they give i can do it.. they praise and give compliments.. classmates always expect me for something.. sometimes.. and my dean thinks that i can do any job and she believes i can teach well in college classes.. and i did i.. i survived.. that's it i think..

Being an accelerated student plus the valedictorian and a Dean's List, I'm quite pressured. They expect me to always have high grades. The funny thing is that my friends are confused as to why I'm still getting good grades but the fact is that I don't even study. When people first see me, they actually don't assume I'm "intelligent" because I don't present myself as one. Meaning, I hate bragging (coz there's not much to brag about) and I'm not a suck-up to the prof since I don't stand up and recite much (bumabawi na lang ako sa quizzes and exams). I'm proud of, but pretty annoyed with, the fact that people do perceive me as intelligent. I'm proud since it's my only "talent" but I'm annoyed because people have high expectations from me... Especially those who have known me since high school.

i would say hindi talaga ko matalino.. nakakatulong lang yung hilig ko sa pagbabasa ng books either fiction or non-fiction.. i guess being intelligent is having the guts to express what's on your mind without hesitations (kahit hindi ka sure kung aagree sayo ang majority)..

What do people say about you being intelligent? I think my only concrete "claim" for "intelligence" is that I was an honor student for six years in elementary. Add the fact that I was in the honors section for three years in high school if it counts. Then again, that's just the layman's perception of the word "intelligent." As the years go by--not to mention meeting the sensible people I call my friends (who played a big role in molding my character, influencing my "growing up", and tapping my potentials)--my standpoint on matters (as trivial as my studying habits and as profound as sex, politics, religion, etc.) changed. It is no question therefore that my idea of intelligence is different from my idea of it years ago. Now, intelligence is not limited to academics and competitions. It is the ability to acquire and use knowledge. It is having more than straight A's and/or a vast memory. So yeah. I think I'm intelligent, not because I was an honor student (ha! not anymore) but because I use reason when I make decisions (quite surprising how many people refuse to use their heads). I mean, don't and shouldn't we all?  Am I even making sense?

What do people say about you being intelligent?: I do not consider myself as intelligent but many people have told me that I am. I do not consider myself intelligent because I just simply do all my works and turn them in on time. Many people often ask me for help when they do their homeworks and being able to help them makes me feel somewhat ‘useful’. I was actually chosen by one of my teachers to be one of the peer tutors in class whenever we have a tutorial session twice a week. It’s quite tiring because most of the time, I do not have answers to their questions or I haven’t learned about them. Many people also expect me to always receive high grades. Whenever I receive a grade lower than what they expected, they get quite disappointed. But that’s okay, at least I know I did my best.

WHAT DO PEOPLE SAY ABOUT YOU BEING INTELLIGENT?  I don't think I'm really that intelligent but one thing I know for sure, I'm striving hard to make it on the top. My relatives would always say that I belong in the rank/honor students, when they introduced me to other person that's their line and they would always tell me to take a lot of courses which I think is not practical. They're proud of me, I know. But, I don't need too much compliment from thdm, what if I fail? Lol. That's a shame.

What does people say about you being intelligent?: Honestly speaking, I don't consider myself intelligent. And I'm not boasting it to anyone because I believe that every person has their own intelligence that makes them absolutely unique. They just have to discover their own intelligence. Maybe the right word is adaptable. I can easily adapt to any thing. Maybe it's because I'm talented lang talaga. Whenever my teachers appoints me to lead any activity, I do well because of my enthusiasm and passion for learning that makes them feel satisfied and yeah, say that I'm witty. And that for me is already an accomplishment.

What does people say about you being intelligent?: i'm not that intelligent..i'm not even considering myself as one. I'm not the recognition Kid..or someone who always receives awards and everything. some of my friends would tell me taht i'm good at this and that.. coz i answer this hard question or got the highest or what.. but i don't care about all those compliments cause maybe i was just lucky or anything. i'm not that good anyway.. i don't even study that much..that's whyi don't get much awards..haha..maybe i just practice my basics..and i'm very enthusiastic in learning..but i'm also a part of the upper percentage of the batch..and i even have the chance to enter the top 10..but it's quite different in our school that's why it's hard to explain..wahah..

What people say about me being intelligent: I don't boast about how intelligent I am and I don't always get awards but I do have a 4.0 grade point average, not that i'm mayabang or anything. I was in the top 20 in my recent school. Some people actually compliment me on it, especially the teachers. They have me work with the students that need extra help. You can tell me to do almost anything. I'm very adaptable. I'm also very enthusiastic. I have had straight A's the whole 3 semesters I had recently. And I had 3 honors classes, which were Language Arts(English),Mathematics, and Science. I hope that I could continue this great record in the next school year, which I will be in high school as a freshman. I am ver fluent in English, not only because I live in the U.S. but because of it's on of my best subjects.

 I don't want to utter to anyone even it was obviously that I am making lowly of myself that I have such knowledge considered to be a superiority by them. Also it had taken me 3 schools to verify my self that I am a knowledgeable person indeed because me myself wasn’t that much a believer that I am that knowledgeable to the fact that my brothers often lifts me downward to humiliation. I had ranked top1 in 3 schools without doing much such persuasive studying like the former top1 students does always to have that top1 title thing. So I don’t really much acquire myself the title of being deserving in the top 1 rank, I think I was just fortunate enough to have that ranking.

Fyi, it takes 5 brains of mine to match Einstein’s knowledge.
So I don’t really much encourage myself to accept that fact that I am derserving to be a smart because due to the fact that I don’t do much of a studying procedure except listening intensely to my educator. Also nutritional tidbit

Hey Janna!

It's so nice to have you here.

As to what you've shared, let me ask you a question. Why does your brothers humiliate such a talented person like you? That's so rude. I understand that there are younger/older brothers who make "asar" their sisters but why do they do such a thing that leads to your humiliation? Have you considered talking with them about how you feel? They might be unaware that you are already hurt to what they're doing to you.

The thing that I can advice to you is ALWAYS believe in yourself. Don't get discouraged whenever people [especially your brothers] put you down. I can relate to you because I was also like that. I don't believe with myself. I feel like I'm a loser and an airhead before. But once I realized things, I've gathered confidence to show the world that I CAN! I began to realize how gifted I am to have a brain that could help many people who are having difficulties. An example is- I'm gifted with playing the guitar so I teach those who can not play that instrument. I'm good at English and Math so I help those who are having difficulty with those subjects. Therefore, I'm using my talent into good use. Always be confident enough to be positive despite all negatives, girl.

I disagree to what you've said. You are not "fortunate" enough to be on the top spot. Why? Because you DESERVE to be there. That rank is destined especially for you. That is God's gift to you and you should be proud of it, okay?

Regards to your tidbit to Einstein: I can relate to you also. Actually, I don't study at all. I'm just being attentive to my teacher. Sometimes, I don't even understand why I'm getting good grades even I don't study AT ALL!
