Nangyari na ba sa inyo na meron kayong nakitang blog na almost kapareha ng inyo? Maybe sa content, sa design or simply about anything that's in your blog?
How do you react with such?

you can't really copyright a concept or an idea...i dunno, just say that you don't want anyone to copy your art or design. BUT if someone made a blog that was a similar concept, then you can't really copyright it. you just have to let it slide.

I got really sad. When I saw a blog that copied almost everything in my blog, I was so disappointed. And like what misery said, I just let it go. If there's only a website where we can report it, I have done it already. I asked the admins for help but they told me that there's nothing they could do about it. They just told me to talk to the person who copied my blog. Good thing, the person PMed me and apologized for what happened.
Uhmm, I do not know if this sounds okay but I really wanted to put a statement in my blog that if ever they want to copy something in my blog, they should let me know and give credit. I am actually having second thoughts of putting that in my disclaimer because I might sound "mayabang" or whatever.
Ank8 was the one who told me that I have this XY signature layout. And to those who have seen my past layouts, you'll know what she is talking about. It's okay naman sa akin na I'll see blogs that have scrapbook-ish concept din pero what makes me sad lang pati yun pagkakadesign ko, nagagaya. Yun lang talaga.
I don't know if you'll get my point pero as a layout designer na naghihirap magconceptualize, nakakasad talaga.

[pardon my uber late reply, i just want to share my thoughts ._.]
I've been experiencing this problem for these past few weeks. And with all honesty, I find it really frustrating. I personally think that having someone copy your whole layout is better than having someone copy your style/signature/concept/idea/etc. when it comes to your layouts. At least with that scenario, you can accuse him/her because obviously, you have the right to do so.. unlike when you're only aware that he's/she's trying to copy your style, you can't just confront him/her directly because well, there would still be a little possibility of "coincidences".. but then back in your mind.. you know that coincidences happen very rarely.. especially in cases like this T_T
It really sucks when you learn that somebody has become too inspired by your layout concept / blog concept (i know this sounds proud but it's reality). It sucks more when that somebody's somewhat your friend and you couldn't do anything about it but just accept it. T_T
Whoever invented the saying "Imitation is the highest form of flattery" must be.. crazy.
Also- "I don't know if you'll get my point pero as a layout designer na naghihirap magconceptualize, nakakasad talaga." <-- I agree with this. It's really hard to conceptualize.
That's all I have to say.. ang haba ng reply ko T_T

Has anyone considered putting in a Creative Commons license on their blog?
I went to a World Intellectual Property Day seminar. Apparently people would be inclined to respect a Creative Commons license rather than copyright. There's a bit more info, but worth checking out.

Design & Layout It depends, if for example I've got a free theme and just edited around it and someone looks almost the same, that is no wonder.
Content, there are millions of blogs, let's say; and I believe that there are really a couple of blog writers who do have the same idea, but if the whole text on another blog is totally identical to yours, that's something else already.
CC License? The Creative Common License is not (yet) a very big thing in the Philippines, it hasn't much effectiveness yet than it has in other juridical laws, like in the US and so. But that would be a start!

if your using a layout from blogskins of or other site that offers a free blog templates... definitely there's a 99.9% possibility na may makapareho ka BUT, if you made your own layout, personalized it and someone copied the way you design your site.. oh men! that really is frustrating. kulang na lang yung pictures mo sa header mo eh kopyahin din, right! hahahaha... about the content of the post... arghhh.. it happened to me that someone copy/pasted some part of my posts... so as a solution i found this site http://www.copyscape.com/ that would at least defend my site using their plagiarism warning banner.

I haven't experienced it, lucky for me but I just find copying the content of a site merely stupid. Why waste time copying stuff?

i agree.. lalo na dun sa "It sucks more when that somebody's somewhat your friend and you couldn't do anything about it but just accept it. T_T" minsan, i'm having second thoughts of PM-ing the person. kadalasan kasi, ang rude nila. sometimes, they will tell you that you're the one who's plagiarizing their stuffs. wala talaga tayong magagawa dito. and btw, i placed a statement on my welcome box in multiply. if you want, you can check it out -- http://joice23.multiply.com/

Ako para sa akin, ayoko lang na ginagaya yung the way I designed my layout & the "way I write". As in.

Kase like Kaila said, may evidence ka eh.

Sabagay. Mas maiging maipamukha sa kanya na, hello, aksidente lang naman niyang nagaya yung blog mo Kaya ako when I do stuff in my blog, hindi talaga ako nagliliwaliw para maiwasan yung idea ng iba na mapunta sa ginagawa kong layout. So if ever na magkaroon ng konting resemblance, atleast I know to myself na its 100% coincidental-- that is, if the person will believe me So there.
