CHAPTER 2
~"If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find
in each man's life, the sorrow and suffering; enough to disarm any hostility."~
HW Longfellow
****Samantha’s POV****“Look at who had just risen from the dead!”
Erica exclaimed while she shamelessly waved her hands in the air like some stupid
quack doctor,
“Lord Jesus, please bless this poor soul!”“No Eka, it should be…” Lucy hardened her voice and imitated the pace of how some sports commentators do,
“Aaaaand now we have Samantha Hayes on the finish line! The very first Bluecave track runner to ever break the recoooord! Wooooh zaaaah!”I rolled my eyes,
“Oh, please…” I
drudgingly approached the front gate where Cindy, Erica, Lucy and Mark were waiting.
Mark came up to me with this stupidly abnormal stare,
“Sister, lemme guess, you didn’t took a bath huh? And then, you ran after a… cute pooch?”I heard the others stifle a giggle, and they stopped as soon as I shot a look at them.
Yes, ladies and gentleman, I love dogs and I didn't took a bath.

I looked back at Mark and let out a big groan,
“Nigga'. Want me to shove your little pink purse down your throat?”“Did you just say Nigga'?
Ouch, sisters, help me, I’m hurt… Deeply, wearily and oh so, deeply hurt.” Mark declared with such sickening drama.
If this “dudette” isn’t my best friend, I would have seriously shoved that bag he was holding down to his very long throat. By the way, aside from Mark, Erica is also my best friend.
Lucy flashed a diminutive grin and shoved her small cell phone down into the deep recesses of her gigantic messenger bag.
“Good thing the gates are still open. I guess the alarm clocks didn’t work again, eh?”“Nah.” I responded as we all started to walk towards the school grounds,
“I didn’t have time to take a shower, and I excruciatingly bumped towards this big dude. No, let me rephrase that… I bumped into this big buffoon!”
“Oh honey, you always laid it on thick,” Cindy motioned,
“I bet this guy was striking, seeing as you always meet good-looking guys! It’s like some sort of good jinx laid unto you. So… He was handsome, wasn’t he?”He was, I thought,
but baaah.I shot a tiring look at her and she shut up immediately.
Erica knowingly laughed,
“You’re really sore this Monday. Brighten up a bit, it’s our first day being the seniors! Time to exercise authority over the freshies, and that means starting the day right!”“I know, I know… But… My first day… is poo.
I couldn’t have imagined a worse scenario for this time of the year…” I said with a sigh.
Cindy opened her mouth and stuttered a little,
“Y-you met a boy on the first wake of the day so that might just be a good sign!”“Oh, great. So it’s a good sign if I gained a humongous bump on my forehead?” I posed as I brushed some wisps of hair to expose a small swollen bump.
“Awww… It’s so cute—and it’s from a prince.” Mark commented.
I gaped at him.
“More like an ogre, no, a perverted ogre, please.”“You really have something against the men society, eh, darling? You never had a boyfriend—despite so many suitors and stalkers… Poor you, to think you’re even the most popular girl in school.” Mark mentioned.
“I don’t care, hunny, and why are you so eager for me to have a boyfriend…? Oh! I know it…! You want to court me! Awww, you’re so romantic. Right, bes?” I joked.
I saw the ugliest face that Mark could ever make in his whole life,
“Excuuuuuuse me sister!
I don’t sway that way! And hellooooo? I’m not a man. I’m a woman—and a sexy bootylicious woman at that.”Lucy laughed and looked at me intently.
“Well, you look like you did run a marathon…” “I did…” and boy, was I foolish.
“Well, sister. There’s only one solution for that,” Mark said with a snap of his fingers,
“Retouch! Here’s a mirror, some cosmetics, and a brush… That, unfortunately, is the least thing I can do.”“Thanks,” I muttered as he handed over a big pouch, which is too surprising to believe that it came out from his small pink purse.
“As for the smell… I can’t do anything.” He said with a high-pitched giggle.
“Ha-ha. Very funny.” And then all of them started laughing. I couldn’t help it so I just laughed along, I missed these guys anyway.

As we hurriedly went to our classroom, my thoughts started to wander a little.
I hope that guy tripped over something, and if he does, I hope his face splats right over some stray dog’s excreta… I imagined him having some of the poo inside his mouth while desperately gagging it all out… As I thought about it, I suddenly let out an evil hoot.
They all looked at me bizarrely, and I gulped…
“Aaah, I was just…”“Being weird… Exactly.” Erica continued for me.
“Ha… Haha…” was all that I ever mustered to say.
****Luke’s POV****I glanced at Samantha and her friends from a distance—I can almost hear what they're talking about.
Ogre eh? Perverted ogre…?
I took careful strides behind them while taking in the facade of the school—man, it is
big, with that state of the art architectural design or something-something.
Once they've entered the building, I stopped in my tracks and looked at my surroundings for a bit...
..Out from nowhere, I heard this group of girls murmuring on my
right side, another group of shrieking girls on my
left side and separate individual ‘staring’ girls on my
front—and I bet some were on my
back.
Some men were even pulling away their girlfriends and so and so.
Oh maaan… and shockingly, a cluster of
gay men appeared, shrieking louder than the girls.
As soon as I saw 'them' moving towards me, I took the cue—I smiled and waved at them and ran for it, heading towards the faculty building; I have to go there before class starts anyway.
I looked back behind me and
damn, the gay men were following.
What a problematic school this is.
