All about: Skin Asthma / Eczema (Merged)
« on: December 31, 2007, 06:40:50 PM »
I have skin asthma which is also termed as Eczema...nagpaderma na ako sooo many times na  (but I stopped going to derma) and all they say is the same "put lotion...put lotion" so i've been applying lotion to my skin but nothing happens and hindi mawala wala so ngaun medyo na conscious na ako sa legs ko (my skin asthma is only shown on my legs)...sabi din ng dermatologist na this is hereditary since my dad also has it...because of this skin asthma, ung skin ko mabilis magdry and magrough

so does anyone know how to cure this?

Here's a useful link from MedlinePlus about Eczema. =)

I also have skin asthma kaya I am envious of those people who got smooth skin (aside from those people who are not deprived of height. Hahaha).

I just apply corticosteroids on my rashes every time they appear. The problem is that they sometimes leave scars. So I have to apply whitening lotion din or just sebo-de-macho.

Just avoid those triggering factors of your skin asthma. Just like bronchial asthma, skin asthma has its triggering factors. Mine are dust, leaves, frequent changing of weather, smoke and some foods.

Just continue applying a moisturizing lotion that is prescribed by your doctor.

For more information, you can read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema#Treatment

there is no cure but there are creams to improve your condition. also, do not bathe with hot water as it cause you to itch even more. soaps like dove will help calm the skin irritation.

Oatmeal is good for relieving itchness and allergy it aslo protects skin from allergens. May skin asthma din ako and dati pa nga kahit sa extreme heat ng sun nagkaka rashes ako when i was in highschool.

Yeah. Sa akin kase the ones that I listed are my triggering factors.

By the way girls.. Kung makati. WAG NYO KAKAMUTIN. Just try to pat and pat it lang (tapikin or paluin ng slight). Kase the more you scratch it, maslalong magiging itchy. It has physiological explanations na di ko na lang ieexplain kase baka maloka kayo. Hehe.
