Chapter 26

“I love you, Nicole….”

Hindi ako nakagalaw pagkatapos ko marinig ang sinabi ni Chris.

We just stared at each other for a minute or two.

Syet! Did I just make another mistake? $:-\$

I could tell she’s shocked from what I said. I hope she won’t get mad. I wouldn’t be able to bear it.

“Nicole, ok ka lang ba?”

Ano bang pinagsasabi nito? This is some kind of joke. That’s not possible. $:-\$

“What do you mean?” I just looked at him, so confused. I’m trying to get answers but I don’t want to be so obvious.

“Do you want me to say it again?” I feel like my cheeks are turning red. Then tumalikod ako sa kanya.

What is this? Am I dreaming?

Suddenly, he hugged me and whisper something.

“I love you, Nicole. And I will do everything just to be with you… ”

My heartbeat escalates.

What?! This is just a dream! Nicole wake up now!

I faced him. “Uhm, I don’t think I understand what you just said $:-\$ ” I’m just trying to confirm something.

All of a sudden, I felt his lips on mine.

My mind wanted that kiss to stop but my heart took over my whole body.

Again, I’m stunned by his kiss. I feel his intention in that one kiss.

“I don’t know what to say…” I’m still confused on what just happened. Parang it’s moving too fast.

“You don’t have to say anything. Just let me love you. It’s enough for me ”

“Easy for you to say ” Although, I’m happy but something deep inside me says that this is not right.

“Then, I’ll prove it to you ”

“Huh?! ”

“What?”

“So you’re really serious ”

“Of course. I’m serious. This time, I won’t let you go ” He smiled at me.

Hindi ko mapigilan ang kilig. I want to jump pero pinigilan ko yung sayang nararamdaman ko.

Definitely, this is real. Chris told me he loves me. I just hope na maging maayos na ang lahat.

Somehow, hindi pa rin mawala sa isip ko ang first love niya. Pero umamin na siya sa akin, siguro nalimutan na niya talaga yung girl na yun. I have to be optimistic.

“We have to go back to Manila.”

“Huh?” I’m confused again.

“Your mom is in the hospital ”

Parang sinampal ako nang marinig kong ang ibinalita ni Chris.

“What do you mean?” Suddenly, I get this frightening feeling inside my heart.

“She was rushed in the hospital when she found out that you’re gone.”

All of a sudden, tears starts to fell from my eyes.

“It’s not your fault, Nicole.” I hugged her. This is the time para malaman niya na hindi siya nag-iisa.

“Yes, it’s my fault. Kung hindi dahil sa akin. Hindi mangyayari ang lahat ng ito ” I can’t stop crying.

“No one is to blame. I’m here for you…” He kissed me again.

“Teka nga, pansin ko lang, kanina ka pa halik ng halik diyan ” He grinned at me.

“Wala lang ”

I can’t help but to smile. I just hope maayos ang lagay ni mommy ngayon.

“I guess we have to go back to Manila now.”

I never thought I’ll be going back again in that sophisticated life that I want to forget.

“Before that, I need to take a bath. Saan ba washroom ninyo dito?” For the second time around, I’m trying to scan the whole house but still I can’t find the washroom.

“Ah ganun ba. Pag-iigib muna kita ng tubig.”

“Huh?” He looked at me with a confused face.

“Kung sa bagay, anak mayaman ka nga pala ” I teased him this time.

“What’s that supposed to mean ” He started to become irritated.

“Oh nothing ”

“Of course, kaya kong mag-igib ” He’s so confident but I know he’s not.

“Sige nga, marunong ka ba ” I looked at him, still teasing him.

Tumawa lang siya. “Ano ba kasi yang igib igib na yan?!”

Lumabas kami sa may poso at nagdala ako ng timba (pail).

I showed him how to pump it.

“Parang ang hirap naman yata ” Sabay kamot sa ulo.

“Sabi ko naman sayo na ako na lang ”

He suddenly grabbed the pail from me. “I can do it, I’m a guy ”

“Aba, may pride ka pala.” Sabay tinawanan ko siya.

He started to pump the artesian well (poso) but unluckily no water is coming out of it.

“Bakit walang lumalabas ”

“Wala talagang lalabas na tubig diyan kung ganyan kabagal.”

Pinatabi ko muna si Chris at ako ang nag-pump ng poso.

After a couple of minutes, the water starts to flow from the artesian well.

“Wow galing, ako nga ” Aba, nabaliw ang loko

Then Chris imitate what I did then nakakuha na siya ng tubig.

Pumasok na ako sa loob para ikuha ng damit si Chris habang nag-eenjoy siya sa poso.

“What’s this?”

Napansin kong ang weird ng damit ni Chris. I assume ganun talaga ang mga first class people magdamit. So I bring it along with me.

“Chris…” Lumingon siya sa akin.

“What’s this?” I waved it at him. Feeling ko underwear niya yung hawak ko.

Syet! That’s my underwear?!?!

He suddenly come running towards at me and grabbed it from me.

“Hey, that’s mine! ”

“I know that ” He became irritated again.

“Didn’t you learn not to meddle in other people personal belongings?! ”

“Di ba pangbata yang underwear na yan? Joshua once wore that kind of underwear ” I started to laugh out loud. I really can’t help it.

Author's note: Have you seen a male’s underwear, yung pangbata. Yung kulay puti. That’s what I meant in Chris’ underwear.

He started to blush. “I didn’t prepare these things”

“Oh please, you don’t have to hide it from me ”

Sumimangot lang siya. “Ok fine, sige maligo ka na.” Tinuro ko sa kanya ang washroom.

“Pasensiya ka na, ito lang ang kaya ng pamilya ko.”

“Ok lang.” Itinutulak niya ako palabas.

“Bakit ba? Inaano ba kita?! ”

“Don’t tell me you’re going to watch me while I’m taking a bath ” He stared at me.

“Ok fine.” I stepped out.

Pumasok na ako sa loob ng bahay. May narinig akong tumutunog. Hinanap ko kung saan nagmumula ang tunog. Dinala ako ng mga paa ko sa may bag ni Chris.

Nakita kong umiilaw at tumutunog ang cellphone ni Chris kaya sinagot ko ito.

“Hello…”

Kinabahan ako kasi pamilyar sa akin ang boses sa kabilang linya.

“Nicole Bakit na sayo ang cellphone ng kapatid ko ”

O MY GOSH!!! sinasabi ko na ba ang sasagot si daniel... todo todo na toh! di ko na keri ang mga nagaganap... hahahah sobra sobra na ko sa pagdescribe ang gandah gandah kasi po next na pooooo!!! hindi ko na kaya ang kagandahan ng ugly but pretty swan woooohhh!!! nagiging lively na naman ako!!! sige po next na po!
