Chapter 24

“At that time, I like Daniel…”

So I guess, you really like my brother….

Napansin kong natahimik si Chris. “Ok ka lang ba?” Pero hindi siya sumagot.

“May nasabi ba akong hindi mo nagustuhan?”

I met you first pero bakit si kuya ang pinili mo.

“I’m sorry may iniisip lang ako…”

I guess iniisip mo yung first love mo and I would assume siya yung first kiss mo.

Malungkot ako pero hindi ko ipinahalata sa kanya.

“So do you still like my brother?”

What a stupid question, Chris Of course, she likes my brother. I wouldn’t be surprise if she would say that she’s in love with him.

Hindi nagsalita si Nicole.

That’s your answer, Chris, kaya shut up ka na lang Lalo mo lang pinapahirapan ang sarili mo.

“Actually, no. I don’t like him anymore.” Natigilan ako sa sagot niya.

Tama ba yung narinig ko? Or am I hearing things?

Then I looked at her. Her face is full of hate and disgust.

“You mean, you don’t like him anymore?”

“You heard what I said.”

Sino ba magkakagusto sa isang katulad niya?! He’s beauty outside but rotten inside.

“Anyways, we should sleep. Maaga pa akong gigising bukas.”

“Why? Where you going?”

“Cemetery.”

“Bakit naman?”

“Well, its been 30 days since my father died.”

Somehow, I feel bad for her. “I’m so sorry to hear that.”

“I’m happy that he’s gone.” Natigilan ako sa sinabi niya.

“Say what?!?! ”

“It’s not what you think. At least, he won’t suffer anymore.”

“Oh, I see.”

Dinala ko si Chris sa kwarto namin ni tatay. Dun ko siya patutulugin, bisita kasi.

“Dito ka matutulog.” Tinuro ko sa kanya yung papag (a bed made of bamboo sticks).

“How about you? Where are you going to sleep?”

“Outside.”

Now I feel bad, I can’t let her sleep outside.

“Why don’t you join me here?” Biglang nagsalubong ang kilay niya.

“It’s not what you’re thinking. Hindi ako ganun klaseng tao.”

“Sure ka?! ” She’s glaring at me.

“Of course, I’m sure. I’m a nice person ”

“Ok fine! Don’t make any attempts or I will cut your neck!” She showed me a humongous knife and I think it’s very sharp. If I didn’t know, it could cut a metal or steel.

Napalunok na lang ako.

Chris, wag ka gagawa ng kung anong kalokohan kung gusto mo pa mabuhay.

Humiga na kami pero tumalikod siya sa akin.

“Chris… $:-\$ ”

“Ano yun?”

“Sorry… ”

“Huh? For what?”

“Hindi kasi first class ang bahay namin.”

“Ano ka ba? I'm just happy because I could see you again.”

Hindi kaagad nakapagsalita si Nicole.

Syet naman! Ang daldal mo kasi, Chris!

“What do you mean?” Humarap siya sa akin.

All of a sudden, my heart starts to pump like crazy again.

Nicole is so beautiful kahit maganda or ordinary lang ang damit niya, kahit nakaporma or hindi.

“What I meant is, I’m worried nung umalis ka.” She looks straight at me. I could hear my heartbeat.

“And why is that?” Ano ba Nicole? Kailangan ko pa bang sagutin yan?

“Because we’re friends… ” Nag-iba ang mukha niya. Parang nalungkot yata at sabay akong tinalikuran ulit.

“Hey wait, what’s wrong? Did I said something that you didn’t like? $:-\$ ” I’m worried. I guess I offended her in some way.

“Nothing. Just sleep.”

All of a sudden, water starts to come out from my eyes.

I like you Chris but it’s too late now.

Medyo sad ang update pero sana nagustuhan ninyo pa rin. Comments ulit
