Part 48 - Richard's p.o.v.After hanging up the phone, hindi ko maiwasang pagisipan yung inilantad ni Sharmaine. Although girlfriend ko si Midori, maganda rin naman si Sharmaine. At napapansin ko palagi yung mga nakaw nyang tingin sa akin. So there’s attraction there. I’d be lying to myself if I don’t find Sharmaine attractive naman, because she is.
So dumating yung lunch time at parang wala akong ganang kumain. Although buong umaga nasa isipan ko yung pag-open up sa akin ni Sharmaine. Gusto ko sanang tawagan si Midori. Kaya lang, I don’t know. Well it’s time to get something to eat outside, tanghaling tapat na.
Biglang nag ring yung telephone.
Napatakbo ako sa phone. I answered it, “Hello.”
Si Sharmaine ang nasa kabilang linya.
“Richard, huwag na nga tayong mag kuwari na parang there’s nothing going on between us.”
I answered, “Okay, Sharmaine. Five minutes of honesty okay. Agreed ba tayo?”
She said, “I was hoping mas mahigit sa five minutes.”
I surrender. “Sige Sharmaine, whatever you need.”
“Richard, I feel so energized pag nakikita kita. Napapansin ko everytime you look at me. Minsan dadaan ka sa harap ko, and you accidentally bumped into my chest, or when you touch me when you greet me.”
Bumaba yung sound ng boses ko, “Napapansin rin naman kitang magnakaw ng tingin pag hindi nakatingin si best friend mo. Pero I just can’t help notice you staring at me.”
“Talaga?” She giggled, “Akala ko I was being discreet at walang nakapansin.”
I told her, “Talaga lang ha?”
“Richard I have to tell you, pero yung pabango mo, it turned mo on so much. In fact, bumili nga ako ng brand nay un para sa ex-boyfriend kong kupal.”
I said, “You did?”
“Richard, I’d give anything para Makita ka lang kahit konting sandali. Alone. Kahit talagang for a little while lang talaga.”
My head is thumping. All the air seems to have rushed out of my brain, and the blood went downstairs. I can’t seem to think straight. Times like this, guys can’t think straight, as the only thing occupying our mind is a little devil popping up on our left shoulder and telling us, “Looks like you’re gonna get lucky.”
So I tell her, “Sharmaine, it sounds good to me.”
Parang narelieved yung boses ni Sharmaine, “So, ano ngayon ang gagawin mo sa situation mo kay Midori?”
She is evil, backstabbing her best friend, and wanting me to do something about my girlfriend, who is her best friend. “Ano naman ang sinasabi mo Sharmaine?”
“Best friend ko si Midori. Gusto kita makita Richard. Pero ayoko ng conflict. Kung mabuking tayo, this is going to get ugly and messed up.”
She is willing te backstab her best friend. Pero inside even though I know it’s wrong I agreed with her. “Ano ang suggestion mo Sharmaine?”
“Richard alam mo basing basa na ako sa kaiisip sayo right now. Ikaw, ano ang suggestion mo?”
I almost dropped the phone after what she just said. My heart was racing and my head was thumping like someone is squeezing my head from ear to ear.
I just said, “Wet?”
Parang serenang nakaka-bewitch she said, “Parang bowl of soup.” Tapos she giggled na naman. Alam nyang I’m hooked at this point.
I can no longer think straight, “Anong flavor?”
She said, “Come here and find out.”
“Talaga?” My girlfriend’s best friend has got her seduction down pat. I’m in her clutches, at hindi ako maka-escape.
“I’m not joking Richard. Halika pumunta ka na and see me this afternoon. You can come this afternoon tapos leave in the evening. Mag park ka sa garage ko, walang makakakita sayo. Hindi tayo mahuhuli ni Midori.”
“I’d like to park my car in your garage.”
“Hindi mo alam kung gaano ki kagusto yan Richard.”
Tapos we laughed na parang mga dalawang bata. “I feel the same way.” There’s no more common sense in my mind. There’s no more thinking straight.
“I’ll be all yours. Then after it’s all over, we’ll pretend it never happened Richard.”
“Paano if it’s better than we think it will be?”
“Ooooh Richard, kahit half lang ng pagka magical sa pag kwento ni Midori, at kinukwento nya sa akin ang lahat sa inyo, that marami kang skills, ang iyon, then we’ll have to get together more often so I can have more of you.”
Kumukulo na ang tyan ko, palakad lakad ako, at hindi na ako mapakali.
“Sige na Richard. Come see me. It took a lot of nerves for me to open up to you, so don’t let me hanging. Come by this afternoon.”
I closed my eyes. Wala ng akong lakas, suko na ako at sobrang pagod sa desire, “What time Sharmaine?”
“Mmmmm, anong time ang good para sayo.”
“Sharmaine, I’m free all day.”
Nag hum lang si Sharmaine, “E paano naman si Midori?”
“What about her?”
“Richard would you feel guilty making love to me?”
“Come on Sharmaine, at this point does it matter?”
“O mean if you love her, then don’t make love to me, alam mo na.”
No hindi ko alam. I don’t get women sometimes. They want one thing one minute. Tapos they want the opposite the next minute. I’m getting a headache. “I love her.”
“So pag magkasama tayo sa bed, you will still say you lover her. Then I don’t want you to make love to me.”
”Alright Sharmaine, I don’t love her.” It’s so easy for women to control guys. Guys are helpless and can’t think straight when it’s about sex. We become so dumb and just get lured in. Sex. That occupies our mind all day and night.
“It’s almost noon.”
“Sharmaine mga one hour andyan na ako. Don’t go anywhere.”
She suddenly got quiet. Walang imik.Oh man, I have to go shower, shave, and get ready. “Hello? Sharmaine are you still on the phone?”
Biglang may SUMIGAW! Sabay IYAK! Tapos SIGAW ng SIGAW! Parang babaeng nanganganak sa labor sa hospital operating room.
Nabigla ako, “Shar, are you still there?”
“Richard”, sigaw ng boses. “Loko loko ka talaga!”
Oh shiyet! “Midori ikaw bay an?”
Midori yelled again, “Eh sino ba ang akala mo Richard!?!?!?”
Biglang nagparinig si Sharmaine, “Surprise Richard. Naka-three way ka.”
I just groaned, tapos dragged out and said a long “Shiyyyyyet.”
