ano po pinag kaiba ng  BS international relation sa communication arts????

If you are into the field of diplomacy or maybe even studying or working abroad, take International Relations. Just pick a foreign language you will really enjoy learning so that you will be fluent. CommArts has different tracks like advertising, PR and journalism.

Any advice?

Hi :) comsci rin ako.

Konti lang naman ang math sa CS. Sa la salle apat na subject lang.

Ang comsci in general ay parang puzzle solving. Think of sudoku parang ganyan :) Hindi siya really math kundi logic.

Haha, it's no big deal if you aren't that good in drawing. Just a pre-conceived notion of the course, I guess. :) (This is coming from an MMA student, by the way.)

Besides, your professor would've taught you the basics in freehand drawing during your minors, so you're covered. Those skills would be handy come your majors as you would do hardcore storyboarding by then.

Also, if this is of encouragement, students' grades are actually based more on good class performance rather than work quality (although that's important, too).

MMA has some web development in it, too, which I think has something to do with Computer Science. It's less extreme in MMA, though, since there still are other more stuff you have to deal with aside from those. I assume you already knew that. Haha.

To be honest, I don't know much about ComSci's nature, but if you're going for variety, it's safe to say you choose MMA. Still, it's your call. ;)

Any idea about Information Systems? I find it quite interesting din kasi since I heard that it's like a combination of IT and business, tama ba yun? Hmm.. The thing is, medyo nagaalangan ako na kunin to kasi baka mahirap yung math e that's my waterloo pa naman :|

^Yes, tama yun. Information System is a combination of IT and business. Alam ko may accounting subj sila. Tapos syempre programming. Are you planning to apply in DLSU?

But they have another name for this course -- Management Information Systems :>

Information Systems is basically the study of streamlining business processes and proposing an IT solution for such processes. The business side of Information Systems isn't really management techniques or marketing skills, but just an understanding on how business would usually function.

IS has less math compared to CS or IT. During my time they only had two math subjects, Basic Algebra and Trigonometry and a single Calculus subject.

What to expect:
A lot of projects requiring you to interview companies and propose a demo system for their processes.
A few programming and database subjects.
Yes you will have to program a working system as well.

What not to expect:
That you will be developing "hardcore" softwares or games or anything involving hardware.
A deep theoretical study on operating systems, algorithms and other computing theories.
Accounting, management or marketing skills.

In my opinion:

IS is a decent course. For those who aren't aspiring to get a master's degree in CS or IT and who immediately wants to work after graduation, IS is a course for you. Given the lack of technical projects, expect jeers from the CS and engineering people but in the end all of you get the same jobs anyway  ;) (yes most eng people are in IT).

Most of my IS friends are working in technology and BPO companies as system analysts, software testers, database and SAP. A few became programmers so that option is still always available to you.

The starting pay in IT is relatively high compared to other fields, the career growth is pretty fast and it's easy to go abroad. I'd actually recommend IS for those who are unsure of what they want but nevertheless wants a course with good opportunities  :)
