^yay. i made a good decision! LOL go accountancy people! do we really have to take up the cpa board exam?

i don't think it's compulsary. alam ko si mama at papa eh hindi nag-try kumuha ng cpa board. ok lang naman kasi you'll still be an accountant but not a cpa. the problem is lesser yung opportunities mo na makakuha ng high positions lalo na if you're aiming for it. alam ko si papa dapat manager na kaya lang dahil hindi siya cpa eh hindi nya makuha yung pinakamataas na position. 2nd to the highest lang lagi kahit sabi ng mga boss nya eh mas deserving sya to be on top.

well its a good motivation for us freshmen that accountancy is easy. para kasing yung iba pag sinabi mong accountancy eh mahirap.

wow! i'm glad that san beda is included on the list. that makes me proud to be a bedan kahit incoming freshmen pa lang ako. though ust is on top 5, i still have no regrets of choosing san beda. sa board naman minsan secondary na lang ang school. nakasalalay pa rin yun sa student.

I say that Accounting is easy because maybe I'm the type of person who likes being organized and going into the details of things. The principles that you have to learn are not really that complicated. Always remember, Debits equals Credits.

I'm studying here in California. The CPA Exam here is a bit more demanding. They want you to be in the field first before taking it. It isn't required though. You can get into a good position with just an MBA or even a Masters in Accounting.  I think I'd want to be a Tax Accountant even if some people say it's the boring, hard part of Accounting.

Another info, as we enter into the technologically advanced it would help that you have programming knowledge and can use Accounting softwares. The Universities here are even offering a double major in Accounting and Business Programming. Like what my professor mentioned, programmers can make programs but you'd still have to teach them the principle of what they're supposed to do with it.

im from st.scho college taking up accountancy before,, hirap sobra pero maganda accountancy nila,,

natanggal ako ng 2nd year first sem so nagshift ako sa commerce para hindi ako maging irreg dahil maraming natatangal talaga,, imagine 3sections ts naging 1 nila less than 20 lang sila..

so 2nd sem commerce ako pero that's not what i want kaya nagloko ako,, dnrop ko lahat ng subjects ko,,

ngayon, im planning to study in san beda,i ill take up sana ICT,, pero hanggang ngayon hidni ko pa naaasikaso,,

tip ko lang magaral kayo lagi and samahan ng prayers,,

goodluck sa social life niyo,,

hello! its my dream to be a cpa someday... and ive no plans of giving up.. yun nga lang... it should wait... hehe! just finished my 4 year commerce course (financial accounting), sa univ kasi namin you need to pass the qualifying exam for you to become a BSA... sadly, i didnt do good in that first qualifying exam and may cutoff pa.. and as they all say, lesser ang chance lalo makapasa on the 2nd qualifying exam... 8 out of 100 (almost) lang ata nakapasa sa 2nd time eh.. so aun.. i gave up na... for me mas madali ang mag-maintain ng grades kesa mag-take ng qualy.. talking bout pressure! so advice ko na lang dun sa may mga qualifying exams.. do your best on your first take pa lang!

and yeah its not about math lang... more on analysation sya.. palagi ngang may hawak na calculator dun eh... ang kalangan mo maintindihan dun yung mga standards... and ever-changing ang mga standards kaya dapat updated ka din...

oh well, ill study ulit and earn the BSA degree... tutal 1 yr and half na lang siguro yun... never say die! haha! oh well... our alumnus Emmanuel GUelas, CPA Board Topnotcher, 2005 ang inspiration kew... aja!

That's actually more popular here in UK than accounting degree. One of the biggest accounting firm called PriceWaterHouse Coopers is very well known to offer accounting technician courses. I don't know much about it but it is sort of like an apprenticeship. It's another route you could take to qualify as a chartered accountant aside from reading accountancy in universities. This, however, only applies in UK.

well ang CAT ay pwede sa mga nabigong mag-BSA... hehe!  di mo kailangan ng degree na BSA para makapag-take ng exam na toh (unlike CPA board)... they encourage FA students like me to take this exam..  the exam covers only BAsic Accounting, Partnership & COrporation, Income TAx and Business Tax ata... im not sure if kasama pa ang Law on Obligations and Contract at yung Law on Partnership and COrp. - so it's much easier kung ico-compare mo naman sa CPA Board exams... (FInancial, COst, at Managerial Acctg pa lang grabehan na!)

title din ang CAT... you can put it after your name once you passed the exam... and CAT is recognized by other countries nga daw like canada, australia etc. (sorry, nakalimutan ko yung ibang countries, wasnt really paying attention nung may CAT orientation sa school namin)...
