hey .. i can help you with these ... well, yup ... as early as first yr ... may tour na ... pero local tour lang ... and you are not required to attend ... however, you will have to do extra stuff in exchange for that tour ... kasi alam ko may grade din yun ... hehehe! parang research lang ata yung pinagawa last time ... something like that ... depende sa prof ... 2nd yr, yun yung may required na tour kasi finals yun for tour guiding ... and third yr ... int'l tour ... di required ... yet may extra task na gagawin if di sumama ... and kasabay nito ang napakakakapagod at gastos na convention ... i tell you ... ngayon palang, pag ipunan  mo na 'to ... hahaha! ayan ... regarding naman sa interview ... it's not that hard ... don't be nervous ... yung factor lang na titignan is how you carry a conversation ... the way you speak ... grammar of course ... pronunciation ... and kasama din common sense ... how fast you think ... like sa akin, ang tanong "what is it in you that we might consider para hindi ka tanggapin?" .. hirap noh ... be careful din w/ tricky questions like ... sa tingin mo, tatanggapin ka ba namin?? .. it's actually a test if you are confident enough to take tourism ... and you are sure with what you are doing ... another tip ... dress accordingly ... kasama 'to sa factors na tintignan nila ... not too formal but not too casual ... ayun .. hope you'll pass ... Ü  ...

De La Salle-College of Benilde!
take up BS HRIM.

not only will you be exposed to cooking, hospitality management during your first term... but also tourisim!!

for the first 5 terms.. its a general course which revolves around the cooking/culinary-nutrition-management[resto/business/front desk] but also tourism! and they go on tours.. locally and internationally.

then finally, you have to decide on which track you're going to Major on [Culinary-Hospitality-Tourism]. which gives you the opportunity to expand your knowledge and experiences before pursuing the track you would really like to take :)

i'm a first yr tourism student in lyceum of the phil university..
ayos lang naman..sa first sem..halo2 pa..
may classmates akong HRM..and HRM cruiseline..
same lang naman kasi ng subjects..
pero sa 2nd sem magkakasama na yung magkakapareho ng course kasi may magkaiba ng subj..about dun sa math..wala kaming math ngaung first yr..
like personality development and customer relations,
sanitation and safety,food and beverage,
intro to hospitality management
..ayun..
tapos english,natural science,chaka p.e..
nagkatour din kmi..twice nung first sem..
you should stand 5'3 para maging qualified ka..
yun ang sabi ng prof ko..as long as my pleasing personality daw at kaaya aya tignan..haha..
so far..masaya naman magaral ng tourism..
and eto lng masasabi ko..
hahaha..getz mo ba?
..hahaha..apir!.. :P
[/b]

i wiLL never let you faLL..
i'LL stand up with you forever..

Im a tourism student at CEU. Its okay here, masaya. They changed the curriculum for the first yr students and I must say its well improved and better than the past curriculum.
I love tourism, its so interesting. The thing is, its so magastos, so better start saving now! :).

ako din tourism,.hehe

just to get things straight,.

first year namin nag seminar kami ng Fidelio sa Manila Hotel,.

meron din kaming french, japanese, mandarin and spanish (optional yung spanish)

ngayong 2nd year 1st sem eh sa corregidor kaso di ako nakasama kasi bagsak ako sa tourism planning,.hehe.,ngayong 2nd sem eh baka daw cebu and bohol.,

They have better and more advanced subjects that are best when taking Tourism. Its focused on tourism talaga.

^more on cooking..meron raw yatang tours.. sa school namin may tours din ang HRM..

ok naman daw HRM..magastos sa ingredients..

ohhh..about the interview, it's still best that when they ask you in English you'll answer it in the same manner..pero kung feeling mo hindi mo masasagot yung tanong in English, magtagalog ka na lang.. what's important is how you answer and the content of your answer.. but dont speak Tag-lish.

and one more thing..wag mo gayahin si janina san miguel..  ;)

hope you'll pass it.  ;)

My cousin's a graduate of Tourism in UPD but she's already in her 30's.

she's right.. and besides, being a tourism major don't mean na magigigng flight attendant ka in the end. you can be a stewardess na kahit hindi tourism ang course eh.  :)
