Tourism din kukunin ko. but i don't have any idea about this course.
the only thing i know is there's a lot of memorization, the languages of diff. countries. My cuz told me that lyceum of the phil. university has a high standard in teaching this course, i hope so.. what else,
san pa kaya magandang univ. or colleges..?

I took up tourism in UST, and the subjects they teach there are really applicable, but I transferred to another course since Tourism wasn't really for me. It's great studying Tourism at UST though. Every sem you learn a different language and go on out of town trips every year. We went to Bohol during my first sem, and there are trips going to other countries during third year. When you take Tourism at UST, you will be exposed to a lot of seminars and conventions about Tourism. It's fun :)

Well ni recommend din yan ng guidance counselor namin dito sa school in case di ako makapasa sa UST since everyone knows UST is good when it comes sa TOURISM and HRM and other courses of course. KAsi nag-iisip din kasi ako sa pera dahil since every year may tour so tapos ung pang aral pa so i really need to be practical about this kasi i'll be an independent student walang support from the family when i reached college kasi eh.

sa UPd, like my classmate told me.... ang Tourism ay medyo centered on management ... hindi pagiging stewardess o plane assistants or whatever.

it's actually Tourism Management.

yeah .. ung chineck ko sa UP may tourism management at may tourism lang .
So that's confused me. Magkaiba ng name and pretty much iba ang function nila pero
almost the same lang cguro ung mga major subjects nila.

yun na nga raw.  they have some similar major subjects pero pagdating ng late 3rd yr or early 4th year, magkaiba na.  plus, the electives are different.

and according to her:
"hindi lang kami mga tour guides at taga-check ng boarding pass, noh!"

her = my friend na tourism major.

yeah, ok lang with the questions.

electives are extra units you can take from other colleges.  sa UP, ang Tourism ay under "Asian Institute of Tourism".  Ang course ko, for example, BA Anthropology is under "College of Social Science and Philosophy (CSSP)".  ayun, so bale if a Tourism major takes Anthro subjects, those will count as electives.  Languages are called "language electives".  ayun...

My cousin's a graduate of Tourism in UPD but she's already in her 30's. Sinabi niya saken na sa UP, di nga focused sa pagiging flight attendant. Panay aral daw sila... Di nga raw sila nakapag-travel di tulad sa ibang universities na nagkaroon ng trip.
I may be small. But I have big dreams!
