REMINDERS and SOME NEW RULES

PLEASE avoid typing in sticky caps and text lingo. This is still a recurring problem here and it's getting really frustrating for mods and rule-abiding members. Spamming is also not allowed. If you're going to say that you agree about something, add more than just "I agree!" Explain why you agree. If somebody mentioned that they tried a diet that really worked, instead of being the fifth person to ask, "Oo nga sis, anong ginawa mo?" why don't you say more? Why don't you talk about how much you're hoping to lose or what you've tried in the past or comment on a former post?

Flooding is not allowed either. I believe that it's only allowed in Who's Who. I was guilty of this bad habit ;D (sometimes though, I HAVE to do this for B&H to bump up a thread with new instructions) If you wanna reply to/quote five people in the same thread, just make one post and address them with "@insert their username here" at the beginning of the sentence or by quoting all of them. You CAN click on the insert quote link when you're replying and it will let you quote more than just one person. It's just very space-consuming (and also annoying) when you see the same person post 8 consecutive times in the same thread.

Also, Teentalk frowns upon using extra letters as much as it frowns upon the use of shortcuts.
So:
Quote
helloh pohh mga teehntahlkers
is just as bad as
Quote
helo p mg tintokers

And I would also like to encourage you to use proper spacing, punctuation and capitalization. I admit that I'm guilty of forgetting my apostrophes or forgetting to hit the shift button when beginning a sentence or typing "I" ;D Nobody's perfect, right? But I've been trying to change that... and I hope you will start, too.

The reason why I'm bringing this up is because I've noticed that a lot of girls use commas instead of periods for their ellipses. Or sometimes, they use a bunch of commas for no reason at all. Some also don't put spaces between their sentences. For example:
Instead of typing like this:
Quote
I would really appreciate if you girls could help me... I'm desperate! Kailangan ko talagang pumayat!
They type like this:
Quote
i need help po talaga,,i don't know what to do anymore,, can somebody help me?!,,tell me what to eat,.,

The first one looks very neat and it's something I'd respond to. The second one, however, comes of as well... I don't wanna go into detail about what I think. But let's just say that it makes Teentalk look untidy.

Please tell me what you think about these new rules. Oh, and thank you to those who took the time to read this... and to those who respond to let us know that you've read this, thanks in advance. And to those who help out in moderating B&H by reminding violators of the rules, our sincerest thanks! :) We really appreciate what you do.

Guilty po ako sa wrong punctuation. I'm sorry po. anyways, I think these should be implemented to almost all the sections here. Kasi po minsan sa sobrang tagal natin sa harap ng computer yung tama spelling at use of punctuation marks ay nakakalimutan na natin. I suggest na put up a thread for us to know when to use comma and other punctuation marks kasi po di naman lahat dito ay aware na po doon.

^Yeah, I agree that that's a good idea. But I doubt teentalkers will take the time to read it.

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read the new rules :)

Wala po yun. It may be time consuming sa pagput up nun at sa pagbabasa pero it's for everyone's good naman po diba? At there's no harm in trying naman.

We highly discourage the posting of forwarded emails. Why? Because most of the time, they present made up information or information that does not have enough evidence to be considered true. Before posting a forwarded email related to Body & Health, do a little bit of research on your own. Try snopes.com or the google search engine.

Also, please don't copy and paste information from other sites. If you think it's necessary, put quotation marks around the quote and provide a link to the original source.

Thank you.

UPDATE: March 31, 2008
NO MORE SURVEY THREADS. This is a forum so we only want to stick to discussion threads =)

AND please try to stay on topic as much as possible... We all change the agenda of the threads because one topic leads to another... That's fine but if a conversation about an out of topic subject is getting to long, it might be time for another thread. ALSO, don't post, "How can I lose weight?" in the How to become taller thread. In other words, don't try to change the flow the thread on purpose.
