can't find my latest post here. but anyway, i want to ask AGAIN.

what is the difference between Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy?
what are the career opportunities of PT and of OT.
which one is better to take a pre-med course?

i'm not familiar about OT ... but PT can be a help on subjects such as anatomy (especially when it comes to the upper & lower extremities ... the origins & insertions of every muscle) & physiology  ... though i'm not sure if there are other subjects from PT that will be of benefit when you continue to medicine ;)

Hey guys. Suggestion lang. MedTech and Nursing yung mga pinaka-okay na pre med course. Yan ang sabi ng CI's ko. Kasi kapag if you take BS Bio, wala masyadong exposure sa hospital. Unlike nursing. Masasanay ka na sa Hospitals. Well, yan ang sabi ng CI's. Tapos mas mahirap ang MedTech kesa sa Nursing. Kaya ayun. :]

this is partially true ... though ... clinical exposure won't be much of a problem since there's a subject called PHYSICAL DIAGNOSIS/BIOETHICS (the name of the subject varies from school to school) ... where you get to train such skills with your fellow classmates ... besides ... during clerkship ... according to my seniors ... they will teach you all the clinical skills you need to learn ... hindi ka nila basta-basta pahahawakin ng patient during your 1st few days sa rotation

4 years in med school (1st 3 years - all theoretical) ... the last year (4th year) - clerkship ... then you'd be able to graduate ... though you may not take the board exam yet because you have to undergo 1 year internship ... so all in all it will take you 5 years before you become a licensed physician.

so basically, hindi pala totoong sampung taon kahit kasama pa ang pre-med. am I right?
nagiging 10 years or more lang dahil walang kasiguraduhan sa pag-asa. ganun po ba yun?

parang ganun na nga ... 9 years all in all ... but it depends din kse ... like kung 5 years ang pre-med course mo (like dentistry) ... it will be 10 years ... or may iba ... they would take a year off after internship para mapaghandaan ng mabuti ang boards ... so it would also take them 10 years bago maging licensed physycian.

microbiology ... parasitology ... biochemistry ... histology ... a bit of pathology ... and all those damn lab values ... are the ones i know that will be an advantage when you'll take MT ... though only a true med technologist can give you a definite answer about this  ;)

i don't believe that there is such a pre-med course that will be a big help when you enter med school ... because each pre-med course has it's own advantages and disadvantages ... i have classmates na graduate ng MT and yet they are struggling to maintain a passing grade compared to my classmate who took BIOCHEM as her premed course ... if you'll ask me ... you should take a college course that you think you'll enjoy and excel ... yun muna ang isipin mo ... wag mo muna isipin ang medicine dahil 4 years pa ang magdadaan ... because i have to remind you that in order to be accepted to the best med schools in the country you should have an impressive college grades and a very good NMAT score ;)

the problem is, parehas kong gust yung PT and Med Tech kaya i'm having a dilemma on which course should i choose.

how about the specialization? yung kung halimbawa po, you want to focus on neurology.
iba pa po bang pag-aaral yun? thank you.

HI everyone. I will be taking NMAT this April but I don't know where I will start. Nagrerelease na ba ng forms ang CEM? How can I get one? If I go straight to their office, will I pay right away? Or pag binalik ko na yung form? Please lemme know. :) Thank you.
