just want to share ;D

i only took the entrance exams in ateneo and ua&p and passed both without any formal review. i only browsed through an old MSA reviewer the night before both exams.

sa ateneo, you need a very good essay and an impressive array of extra-curriculars. my grades weren't that good-- meaning may 79 ako-- but i'm pretty sure my essay stood out (weird kasi) and i was very active throughout high school.

with ua&p, you need to learn to think rationally kasi the part which is hard is the reading comprehension. the math was relatively easier than ateneo's but they made bawi in the form of abstract reasoning.

my fourth year grades are very low (when i say very, i mean VERY) and my records from first year to third year were far from exemplary, however, i was offered partial merit scholarships in both schools. i love both schools pero i chose ateneo kasi their partial is much cheaper than ua&p. hehe.

err.. the point is, it isn't just brain smarts which raise your chances of getting in your desired school. our salutatorian was waitlisted in ateneo and several of those in the honor roll were rejected.. why would someone only 15th in her class get in instead of them? big wonder, don't you think?  ???

anyway, good luck. hope this helps you. ;D

wow..nice:) thanks! yeah i heard stories like that rin.. yung tipong puros mga line of 7 pero naka pasa ng ateneo and up..like woah!

thanks po sa mga nagrereply:D

magbaon kayo ng tatlong jacket sa ua&p, lalo na if sa pldt hall kayo magte-test.. they closed the aircon and opened the windows, ang lamig parin! haha.. sa ateneo naman kabaliktaran  :P

on a side note, don't just focus on the big five [admu, ua&p, up, dlsu and ust]. the quality of your education is dependent din on the reputation of the school in your particular field of study. like, FEU and Mapua are good when it comes to engineering, San Beda is good with law, etc etc. sometimes, they even surpass what the big five offer.

what do you plan on taking ba?

in my part, what i did was to focus more on math..malaking tulong din kse un eh..ung science and other subtests, more on general knowledge na lang.. u know this power memory reviewer, for me, it did work..mura lang eh..80 ata or something, pero ung makapal, somewhere 300..hanapin niyo na lang sa mga national bookstores..

our psych-ed teacher told us din kung pano ka natatanggap for a certain course..

dba, may mga subtests..tas usually ang mga total scores diba is 800 (points ha..not items)...sabi sa akin, for example, to qualify for this particular course, you must have at least a grade of 600 in science and 590 for inductive reasoning..basta..ung tipong ganun..:) i dunno if this is true for all schools, pero sa ateneo,it is somewhat like this..:)

:) thanks ulit sa mga nagrereply:)

go to ua&p. maganda industrial economics program nila, plus guaranteed na may trabaho ka after graduating IEP there. sila mismo maghahanap para sayo kasi they've got many (as in MANY) connections. my bestfriend is an incoming fifth year IEP student there and as of now that she is an undergrad pa lang, pinag-agawan na siya ng globe, adb, amcham and unilever. talk about sure jobs. basta, eco is very good there ;D

its really stock knowledge, tiwala sa sarili and time management.. kailangan talga dont stay too long on one question or you'll end up with nothing. kasi lahat naman din yata ng mga entrance tests laging may time pressure.

Nagreview center ako, Expert Guides, last year. Nakatulong naman siya kahit papano kasi nireview namin yung mga lessons from 1st to even 4th year HS. Pero kung natatandaan mo naman yung mga lessons mo, I suggest na wag na lang. :p

Oh, enroll ka sa Expert Guides kung gusto mong makipagsocialize and stuff.:)
