Merged: Review Centers and Tutorial Services (MSA, AHEAD, Etc.)

when did you guys start reviewing for your college entrance exams? mga april ba nagsimula na kayo or tanging nung nag-review center lang (kung nag-apply ka)?

nakakapraning! parang ang daming pinag-aralan!

day before the exam.  nagreview center ako so bale month of may talaga.

anong year nun? and is he the Alferez or the Lambino guy? .. and sa reviews lang ba sya or sa tutorials din? kasi ngayong summer sa math ako magko-concentrate (Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, II, Geometry, Statistics and Data Analysis.. btw, ano ang data analysis?, haha ^ ^). tapos after nun sciences..

Last questions (sa Monday na ako tatawag eh, pero di pa sure kasi baka wala pa mom ko nun ^ ^) yung tutorials nila ba dalawa lang kayo sa room? like, private session talaga (kasi yun yung gusto ko para pwede ako magtanong nang magtanong  )
and sa reviews di ba may sched, yung tutorial ba, pwede ikaw yung mag-ayos ng sched? kasi gusto ko mga 5 hours per day everyday (or maybe more kung pwede and kung di mainis sa akin  ). plus may iba pa akong gagawin ngayong summer eh.

No worries, I'm glad I could be of help. I didn't enroll for tutorials, just reviews. In reviews, we were like 40 in a classroom. They use a different room as for tutorials. As far as I know, it's possible na one on one. I'm just not sure if you can ask them to go directly to your house instead. And I think it's only 5 hours max. I think. In reviews, I could chose my sched. Whether from 7-12 or 1-6, MWF or TThS. Those were my options in reviews, pero sa tutorials I'm not sure if it's 3x in a week. Pero in our case, for example we missed a class, we can go to the afternood class instead. In tutorials, I guess you can re-schedule also. You could call them directly for clarification.

hala. start na ko mag review for UPCAT sa may6. doon nga ako sa AHEAD sa robinsons e. haha nung nabasa ko mga posts lalo ako kinabahan. hahaha
i want to do my best pero super shy ko. i'm afraid to ask questions (good luck naman sakin diba) haha any tips?

group session ka ba?
dapat group session din ako para sa SAT review ko pero since la namang masyadong nagta-take nun, naging one-on-one na lang 
pero I'm taking group sessions yata for my UPCAT review soon.. probably mid-May.

According to my sister (pero sa Expert Guides siya eh..), naglelecture lang yung mga teachers and makikinig ka lang. I don't think there's much interaction. Then you take lots of tests/refreshers.

yup. mag-isa lang e. i was supposed to go with my friend pero umayaw din sya.
yup group session po. nung nagpunta ko sa review center nakita ko yung mga nagrereview. waaa. lalo lang ako kinabahan. 3-7pm pa naman session ko.
commute lang din ako papunta dun. hai. i need help. masyado kasi ako

ah, pareho tayong may masasamang kaibigan  . Ni isa sa mga tinanong kong 9 na tao ang pumayag. Kainis. Kaya di pa ako nakakapagregister sa UPCAT classes.

4 hours lang naman eh. Mas mahirap pag yung mga mahahabang sessions na may breaks in between kasi pag ganun wala kang kasamang kumain. A bright side for you ^ ^

My plan  (which isn't very good) is to go there, sit, look around to see if I'm the only one alone (when i went in the MSA waiting room, parang walang magkakakilala dun eh), then try not to look too terrified/snobby so as not to ward off potential friends while waiting. If someone else is alone, I'll probably try to approach her if she's not busy and introduce myself.

If you don't make friends, just try concentrating on the lectures. You'll have your hands full too much to feel awkward. Besides, that's what you're going to the reviews for anyway.

haha hanggang ngaun i'm still strying to convince them na mag enroll na din e. ayaw talaga! haha

hmm. feeling ko kasi super haba ng 4 hours. tapos puro strangers pa kasama ko dun.
and we have a scheduled break. plan ko nalang bumili ng snacks before mag start yung session para walang hassle. haha

i wish walang recitation or anything. puro lecture nalang sana. haha!
i'll try to keep a positive vibe. mukha DAW kasi ako masungit e.

well, at least naka-sched ka na. yung friends ko kasi sa school namin sila magrereview eh ayoko nga dun dahil kasalanan ng school kung bakit ko pa kailangan magreview (not enough topic coverage) so bakit ako pupunta dun di ba? 
anyway, di ko alam.. i think AHEAD is just as expensive as MSA so maybe they can't afford it.
If I do attend the classes there, it'll be like, 15 thousand for 60-something hours. There are longer sessions pero syempre, mas mahal din. Yung cheapest yata 12 thousand for 40-something hours..

You know, this summer, my friends keep disappointing me one after the other. Now they won't even go to the movies with me or stay on the phone for a little longer. Talk about friendship. Ah sorry, off topic. ^ ^

Anyway, if it makes you feel better, I can't even go to the review center on my own. My dad has to drive me there and I have to bring our maid along for me to go home, hehe..
