just want to share

i only took the entrance exams in ateneo and ua&p and passed both without any formal review. i only browsed through an old MSA reviewer the night before both exams.
sa ateneo, you need a very good essay and an impressive array of extra-curriculars. my grades weren't that good-- meaning may 79 ako-- but i'm pretty sure my essay stood out (weird kasi) and i was very active throughout high school.
with ua&p, you need to learn to think rationally kasi the part which is hard is the reading comprehension. the math was relatively easier than ateneo's but they made bawi in the form of abstract reasoning.
my fourth year grades are very low (when i say very, i mean VERY) and my records from first year to third year were far from exemplary, however, i was offered partial merit scholarships in both schools. i love both schools pero i chose ateneo kasi their partial is much cheaper than ua&p. hehe.
err.. the point is, it isn't just brain smarts which raise your chances of getting in your desired school. our salutatorian was waitlisted in ateneo and several of those in the honor roll were rejected.. why would someone only 15th in her class get in instead of them? big wonder, don't you think?

anyway, good luck. hope this helps you.
