Course: Mass Communication and Communication Arts

hi mga ate's  4th  year student lang po aq..and im thinking of taking this course..pero sa may province aq nakatira.   I read sa ibang post na mas maganda ang mas comm sa up,ust,dlsu..paano kung sa may batangas aq mag-aaral....parang ayaw kasi ni mami na sa manila ako mag-araal..help please....

truth is, if you're a Comm major, you're gonna be open to so much career opportunities. you can work as a director, film maker, reporter, news anchor, DJ/VJ, advertiser, film critic, producer, writer, journalist.. think BIG, think MEDIA.

there's power in media, in communication. (in whatever form it may be)


schools:
ADMU << am taking up Com here right now. you get to choose a "track" (Advertising/Media Studies/Journalism/Image and Sound production) by second year so if u aren't so sure yet it's okay.
DLSU << people i know told me it's really good there too, it's hands-on learning
UP << Broadcast Comm (TV media) / Journalism

i'm not so sure about the colleges/universities there but here's what you can do:

1. Go to the schools/universities in your area
2. Ask for the Communication course curriculum
3. Compare and see kung alin ung fit sayo

Good luck with choosing and in taking your entrance exams!

Hi everyone  Bago ako sa thread na to, I'm very interested in this course. Parang ito talaga yung course na matagal ko ng hinahanap. I'm actually in college nah, and I took up AB- International Studies, from Ateneo de Cagayan. I hope you guys can help me, I'm already in 3rd year college and hindi talaga ako happy sa course ko. What should I do? and  hindi ko alam kung saan ako mag aaral ng communication arts. Mahirap ho ba ang entrance exam sa UST? and saan ho ako puede mag take ng exam na puede lang dito sa lugar nimu. Actually, I got inspired by all your posts about Comm Arts. Talagang na iimagine ko kung anong magiging future work ko, I love editing videos and photography as well, but I'm not so good in writing but I realize I'll learn a lot if I study hard. I also thought of Tourism but I'm not gifted with the height. hehe. I hope you guys can help me

Eeeek! Communication Arts is the first choice in the universities I applied for... Mainly because I think it's the one perfect for me and that I accepted the fact I have no future in the 3 of the 4 major branches of Science... Well, gonna have to wait next year, then next school year, I really hope I'll be taking Communication Arts.

^ Try Ateneo, eventhough I think tapos na yung application time nila. Letran maganda at UST, when it comes to Comm Arts. Ganda ng facilities!

UP, ADMU, DLSU, UST, MC and SPUQC/SPUM. 'Yan ang alam kong maganda ang Comm Arts/ Mass Comm program nila.

what's the difference between Mass Communication and Communication Arts? I am a 1st yr psychology student and Im going to shift. And I am planning to take COMMUNICATION ARTS in UE caloocan. What job can I have if I take Comm Arts? Thank you.

^Ang alam ko it's the same. Magkakaiba lang tawag sa iba't ibang schools. Pag Comm Arts/Mass Comm, usually, traditional media like TV,  Radio, Film, Print Journalism, Advertising and the like. Kung gusto mong pasukin ang corporate world, sa PR ka.
