A whole lot! advertising, theater, magazines, journalism, in front of the camera (tv -- with abs and gma) teaching, HR, in business, photography, graphic artist. ;) mass comm graduates are very well rounded.

^UP Diliman. Center of Excellence yan.  ;)

Kung interested kayo sa comm courses, try niyo Organizational Communication sa UP Manila. It's a business course that deals with communication. Holistic ang approach kasi both oral and written skills ang iniimprove. Plus, there's a little bit of everything kaya maraming job opportunities after.

lolz.... true.  sabi nga sa amin.  *proud naman lolz  :P*

can i just ask kung ano ba yung difference ng broad comm sa mass comm?

sa UPd kasi, Mass Communications is a whole frickin COLLEGE complete with building and everything.  hindi siya single course.

and under it, may apat na undergraduate course (eto na yung mga kurso; eto ang isasagot pag tinanong kung ano ang course mo):

*broadcast communication - news caster, etc.
*film and audio/visual communication - director, scriptwriter... the works
*journalism

don't believe her post. that's not true. maybe that only applies to certain companies and the job position that the masscom student applied for. but generally, commarts.masscom students have more jobs available/open to them

I'm taking up right now Mass Communication(Broadcasting...).. At CEU... Maganda siya.. Dami opportunities.. You can be seen or behind... Maganda siya talaga... But always bear in mind you should be creative and competitive.. Kung mahiyain ka mahahasa din yun... I'm soo excited na nga kasi meron kaming subject about Radio and Scriptwriting... Kung saan ka naman college it's fine.. Marami namang maganda AB Masscommunication school diyan!! Hope makapagdecide ka na! I'ts fun being a Masscom student.... ;)

sabi sa "payong kapatid" -- masscomm is very in-demand here sa pinas.  not just coz of the callcenter hype.... lahat kasi ng companies have a communications expert eh.

it's a misconception that masscomm grads only end up like korina sanchez and mel tiangco.

i am a AB-Communication Arts student at University of Santo Tomas.

i love my course so much. there will be a lot of job opportunities, because media is a stable social institution. so there.  :)

Waah! Inggit naman ako sayo ate.

Yung parents ko kasi nilakad yung Mass Com ko na course sa UST.

Nag-letter sila for reconsideration.

FAILED kasi ako dun.

Waiting ako sa Pol Sci. :(

sis, hehe.. oo nga, dat's true.  pwede siya sa bawat business at sa bawat corp kasi bawat isa ay may marketing involved.  what I simply meant is that pwedeng gawin ng iba with out graduating that certain course yung job nila. pero siyempre, if you're really targeting yung super taas, go directly sa course WITH a masteral's deg. para dagdag edge.  oh, nga pla, sis, anyhow, basta to get to the high pos, experience talaga ang hanap sa industry na yan eh.

aray nmn, made me sound like a kupalz. hehe.. joke lng ah...

anyway, oo nga, super jack-of-all-trade wla nang specialty.  and nga pla, maraming job openings pero mababa start.  pero sabi nila, basta masipag at creative super bilis dumoble.  pero un nga, konti lang yung nagaactually "make it"

one of the things you have to bear with sa ganyan is yung biglaan ka nalang tatawagan kht off mo at papapuntahin sa isang event! argh... kahit minsan, nanunuod kami ng shark tale, bigla nagring CP nya at pinapapunta sya sa client. diba nakakainis...arghs tlaga, anytime pa, minsan super late na or super early.

eto nmn sa advantages, asteeg, you get to go to BIG events.  you get to meet celebs, talents, tycoons.  hehehe...

pero meron ding sitting jobs for mass com peeps.  like writers and creatives. pero yun nga, wala sa course, asa talent.  basta hilig? kaya.

hmmm.  NGa pla, if ever, ano yung lahat na options mo ngayon in terms of schools and courses considering?
