im a flight attendant of kuwait airways...
sabi nila pag FA ka...maganda ka, glamorous, at mayaman.
well, thank you for seeing us that way.
but then, the glamorous part, siguro noon un.
ngaun, not so.
see, we work so hard to make our passengers feel comfortable and safe on-board. being a flight attendant isnt just a catwalk in the cabin aisle. it entails alot of responsibility. it is more than just the face, you should have the brains as well.
every before flights, we get briefed about the flight details, passenger load, service and especially safety on-board. we would get questioned by our chief cabin what are the safety measures to be done on a certain situation and on that certain type of aircraft. i fly airbus300 and 340. one aircraft is different from the other...we should get to memorize every safety details by heart and mind, be quick in decision making and to act accordingly in case of emergencies.
if we fail to answer our CCI's questions regarding safety on-board, we would get off-loaded and reported to higher authorities. at worst, we might be sent back to safety training center to learn the safety measures again.
we are expected to smile at all times. being human, sometimes our patience are put into a test by unruly passengers. one time, on my flight to cairo, one of my passengers touched my behind. to my shock, i have slapped him... these are just one of my worst experiences on-board. but the worst is when they treat as a their own personal maid (most arab pax do that to us.) we are their to make them feel as comfortable as ever the whole flight. but some feels as if it is part of their airfare, the right to make us their slaves on-board. and that is totally wrong.
but on the brighter side of our job is, we are paid to see the world.
so sa lahat ng gustong mag-FA, walang puwang ang kaartehan sa industriyang eto.
