Hey, Candy girls!
I'm online almost 24/7. I have been since the summer of 1997. I loved joining message boards and enjoyed making websites. I was still in high school then.
It's always been clear to me, even as a young teen, that going online was just as dangerous as crossing a street by myself. There were strangers everywhere and if you weren't careful, you could easily grab the hand of some stranger and they'd take you some place scary.
Fast forward to today, I can't help but feel responsible for all of you visiting Candymag.com. So as if the reminders on the site aren't enough, please, please, please read our page on online safety. I know you're smart girls, but it never hurts to be extra careful and sure.
Quick tips: (1) Never give out important info such as your number and address to people you don't know, (2) if someone is making you feel uncomfortable, report them immediately to the admin (we're the best people who can help you), and (3) if you're in doubt about anything on the site, it's much better to ask Roch or me about it than anybody else. Okay? :)
