It depends on your color tone. If your fair, to emphasize your skin tone you can wear black cocktail. But if your dark, you can wear a silk maroon dress to emphasize your dark yet beautiful skin tone......

in my junior year here in my new school,,we did not celebrated JS prom,,but the school administration decided to throw a valentines party and that included everybody..it was not a formal party,,that day i wore an all black outfit with a green chuck,imagine how EMO i am during the valentines day,2gether with my friends,,its our way of showing that we did enjoy the party though we have no dates that day..
