5 Ways To Make a Long Distance Relationship Work
Shorten the distance between you with these helpful tips.

Relationships come in all shapes and sizes, and most of them aren't what you call conventional. With the world being so vast, you may find yourself dating someone from halfway across the world. Your current partner may fly off to study and stay somewhere else for a certain period of time. To keep the romance and the relationship going, here are 5 ways to make it work.

  1. Go on Skype dates.

Dates are essential in a relationship, and just because you're both not physically at the same place at the same time doesn't mean you can't have one. With technology, you can video chat and have a meal together. It may seem and feel ridiculous at first, but if you are really serious about the relationship, it will eventually feel natural and something you'll both look forward to.
  2. Try to constantly communicate.

This doesn't mean you have to constantly be chatting or messaging each other 24/7, because sometimes less is more. This just means that you should communicate enough so that you catch up on each other's lives as much as you can. It's not about being clingy or checking in with each other; it's about being genuinely interested about the other person's life.
  3. Do things together.

To help keep close with your partner, try doing things together. Even if you're apart, you can watch the same TV show or movie, read the same book, or even play an online game simultaneously. Find ways to bond and make connections. This way, you have common things you can talk about so that it feels like you're both on the same page even if you're miles apart.
