What You Can Do To Help
Every little bit of help counts. Let's do our part.

We hope that you Candy Girls are safe and dry at home right now. But if your area is flood-free and you want to help out. Here are a few things you can do to extend your assistance to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.

  1. Donate. In any way that you can. You can do this in cash or in kind. What do they need? Food (canned goods and cooked food), clothes, water, blankets, and beddings. Philippine Red Cross is also accepting donations through SMS: Text RED(space)AMOUNT to 2899 (Globe) and 4483 (Smart). Ex: 'RED 50' There is P1 (Globe) and P2.50 (Smart) transaction fee for each text. For those outside the Philippines, you can also help.

  2. Volunteer. There are lots of people who have been preparing relief goods for those places that need food and water. You can go to your Barangay Hall or your local parish to check where relief operations are being done. Relief operations are underway in Ateneo, Cubao, and other areas.

  3. Report. If you know of anyone who needs help, notify the authorities. Contact your barangay officials or help update the information on hotlines so that everyone will know who to contact.

  4. Pray and stay positive. You can be a big help even just in your own home. Let us storm the heavens with prayers for everyone who is still stranded. Let us hope that rescue teams can get to them.
If you have more information on where people can volunteer or drop off their donations, please leave a comment below.
