US's summer fashion trend consists of a lot of bohemian details like crochet tops and cover-ups, maxi dresses and skirts, and hippie-inspired patterns and designs that gave way to one of the emerging trend this season—feather accessories.

Stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Jessica Szohr and others have been wearing everything feather and peacock, from their crowning glory to their ears, and on their necks. It seems to be a risky trend but all you have to do is to keep it simple. If you're planning to wear feather accessories, keep your outfit plain and not OTT. Keep your hair down so the details of the feather earrings will be seen through your hair. Try to experiment on looks that will look good with your new accessory but always remember, less is more.

If you know how I usually dress, you'd think black, leather, studs, denim and all that jazz. But during the Bloggers United Bazaar, I opted for something quite different. I wore a floral printed dress—but fine I still stuck to black and studs. Something that I picked to "switch it up?" My bright red feather earrings! Something I love about feather earrings (or feather accessories for that matter) is that extra "oomph" they add to an outfit. It's something I've been crazy about for some time now!

I've always been fascinated with playing colors so for this particular look, I chose a yellow polo shirt and paired it with a printed purple blazer. And because I cannot leave the house without wearing a pair of earrings, I took the risk and wore my colorful feather earrings. The feather accessory is kind of tricky to pull off, but when used or styled properly, it can definitely make a style statement. Make sure that the feathers you choose will complement or contrast perfectly against your outfit. It should serve its purpose—light but should make an impact. ;)
