Name: Iza Vanessa Mendoza
Hometown: San Pedro, Laguna
Simple but adventurous. I dress up according to my mood (and the weather). I’m a minimalist. I would always go for something simple yet stylish. I don’t like too many accessories—just one or two staple pieces will do. I always make sure that I dress because I want to express myself and not just to impress other people’s eyes. I might not have the trendiest pieces but as long as I’m happy, confident, and comfortable with what with what I’m wearing, then I’m good to go. On a related note, I also love to experiment!
Small enough to fit kids' size. If I have cash to burn, I shop at the usual haunts—Topshop, Zara, Mango. Since I’m petite and thin, I also love to shop at Kids of Bayo. I like how their clothes fit me. :-)
Fashion gurus. In a world where we are bombarded with fashion, it’s so hard to choose only one. Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, and Christian Dior are on top of my list. I love how their innovative and divine creations make my jaw drop!
Accessorized. A very nice trinket will always be a part of my outfit. It might be a pair of flashy earrings, a cute necklace, a classy watch, or a pair of perfect sunnies. But, self-confidence and a perfect smile are really my best accessories!
Inspired. Actually, a lot! Celebrities, models and magazines. There’s a lot to see in the internet, too. Lookbook.nu never fails to give me my daily dose of inspiration!
Style goddesses. Vanessa Hudgens, Olsen twins, Anne Curtis, and the forever awesome Lookbook goddesses Agnija Grigule, Juliett K., Mayo Wo, Aimee Song, and Tricia Gosingtian.
Fashion lover. All the things around me can be very influential. From the kind of music that I listen to, to the movies that I watch. From the eye candy things that I see on fashion blogs, to the store window of my favorite stores. Those can be really influential. But to top it all, I think my love for fashion influenced me the most.
Minimalist. I love black and white! Those colors consume a big space in my closet and I believe those will never go out of the scene. I love florals, hot pink, and tangerine, though.
Never ever! Gothic pieces, big baggy pants, and bulky rubber shoes.
The basics. Comfy flats, little black dress, and a really nice pair of denims.
Trend rebirth. Color blocking! The origin of color blocking dates back to the '60s and I love that it is actually making a comeback now.
Hand-me-down dress. My mom gave me her wedding dress from the '80s. The lacey floral prints all over made it so classic. It’s lovely!
