Note: The essay you are about to read is my COC essay and that means that it is about me and my achievements. And that means, that here, bragging is not a sin. Thank you very much! (LOL)
A true Candy girl just got better!
That’s me! I am Mheems, the 18-slash- 7 year old girl from a place called Bulacan. Yes, you’ve read that. I am a probinsyana.
I’ve been steadily living here in Bulacan for more than four years now, and so far, I love this place. I love my being a Bulakenya. I love living a simple life, having lots of nice neighbors and seeing scenic rural villages almost everyday. I am so proud and privileged to be in a place I could actually call home.
That’s why I was sad after reading in TeenTalk that only the girls from NCR can make it to the COC. How about me? How about us?
Provinces have lots of great talents. Without bragging, I can say that I am one of them. Since Kinder, I’ve been representing Sto. Niño Academy for inter-school competitions and I am proud to say that every time I go out and represent my alma mater, I always bring a medal home. Thus, during my senior graduation, I was awarded “Declamer of the decade” and I can’t be happier. This year, I was awarded third place in DUC SUC 3. It’s an oratorical contest for region 3, and I was so happy to win the third place. I also love acting and performing in front of lots of people. Last March, I starred in a school play entitled Oli Impan. There’s a scene there where I needed to sing “Silent night” while crying. I was looking at the audience that time and I can see tears fall from their eyes. When the curtain closed, I heard people calling my name and I was filled with joy, joy that somehow, I made an impact and that’s what a true Candy girl is all about!
A probinsyana is not just talented but also, packed with intelligence. I’ve been a consistent honor student since Elementary and now that I’m in College, I’m always on the top of my class! I also represented my school in local Math competitions. And since I so love Math, I am taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Math. Right now, I am on my third year and I can’t wait to participate in an actual school situation.
