In English, it means life is beautiful and indeed it is. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to model for one of Paris’s well-known hairstylists Jean Marc Joubert in L’Oreal’s Colour Trophy 2008 Event held at the Crown Hotel Grand Ballroom last May 6. It was really a blissful experience. I felt like everything was just happening so fast, from the preparations in the L’Oreal building to the rehearsals in the ballroom, it was all so surreal. But when I went out that stage and walked that runway, time just stopped and all I could see were blinding lights and silhouettes of the audience staring right at me—a perfect movie scene feeling, I must say. It might sound so horrifying, doesn’t it? But I felt so free, like it was my turn to shine and strut my stuff down that runway. It was my first time to be given an opportunity to be styled by the great Jean Marc Joubert and be made up by Shu Uemura’s finest with Jun Escario’s rocking couture. It was simply a priceless experience.

That’s me walking down the runway! (Photo is taken by Mikhail Quijano.)

Hey, girls!
Today’s a special day because it’s the birthday of one of the most special people in my life—my mom.
It’s too bad she’s on a business trip right now. She’s been flying back and forth between Manila and Singapore for the last year, and sometimes she’s home only on weekends—arriving Friday night and leaving Monday morning. I miss her terribly when she’s away. And it’s just too bad that she’s not around on her birthday.
Here’s my favorite photo with my mom, taken at a wedding in December 2005:

At exactly 12 midnight, last night, I turned 20. Yay! But, how can the removal of the suffix “teen” in my age change my life? Well, I guess just like when I turned 18, everyone expected me to be a fine young lady. I believe I turned out to be one! Haha! I stepped out of my comfort zone to take some risks, I handled a lot of pressure and stress from school, and I faced the challenges in my life—fiercely. I remain optimistic despite problems that arise.
So now that I am 20 and officially entered adulthood, I am expected to take on bigger responsibilities. Does this mean I will be getting a bigger allowance? Can I have a boyfriend already? (CUE: Brothers coughing and making their presence felt) Haha! Well, I will tell you next year if these things happened. Hehe!
With the guidance of God, my lovable family, friends and Candy boy and gal pals, I know I will be fine in this world.
This morning, I think it was around 6 am, my mom woke me up to greet and give me this:

Chocolate Cupcakes from Art Cakes! Aww. Thanks, Mom!
