Day in the Life of Candy

I’m sure a lot of you are up and about, putting on your school uniform and polished shoes, and checking up on lost (emphasis on lost) homework. I say the worst part of sembreak is the Sunday before you head for school, don’t you think? But anyway, gear up girls! It’s a new week! You never know what to expect.
As for me, I still have a week to go before school officially starts so I am quite guilty of cramming every activity in my last week! Aside from the occasional movie, music, and TV show marathon, I’ve sought refuge in the company of my high school friends. The other day we went to The Fort to check out my friend’s condo. We were quite the responsible adults when we ate so much pancit canton and potato chips, we were on a total MSG-high afterwards. Wait, I said responsible?! Woops!

Hi, Candy Girls!
What a weekend! I just got back from Batangas with some of my teammates. After getting killed during finals week, we all just wanted to relax and chill under the sun. It was a 4-hour drive to Batangas and we bravely headed North at around 12pm. My two teammates, Max and Gab, gamely provided transportation for everyone. And while the boys rode with Gab, we girls, enjoyed gossip, gossip, and more gossip in Max’s car!

Making Our Minimag: Because We Can’t Always Put Everything
October 10, 2008 at 6:31 pmTags: candy, COC8, minimag, Shoots
I hope all the Candy girls were able to rock it out during the Candy Fair in A.Venue, Makati! We COC 8 girls grabbed the opportunity to make the event a mini-reunion for us. Too bad Rubie wasn’t able to make it! :’(
Anyway, I also hope you guys were able to flip through the Council’s minimag already because we’ve put so much of our time and effort to come up with such an awesome (it is, in my opinion, AWESOME!) minimag just so we could share our experiences in working for our favorite magazine. From the fashion and beauty shoot, to the staff shoot, to the field trip, down to the celebrity shoot, we had a gazillion pictures which we all wanted to put in the magazine! Of course due to that impossibility, we put the decent ones (as mentioned by Crissy) and left the really wacky ones for us to share here in the Candy blog! Enjoy!
Sadly, during the staff shoot I had Math and Filipino finals which I couldn’t forego. But the Candy girls were gracious enough to understand and left me a space so they could Photoshop me beside Mheems! ((: I really wanted to attend the shoot but I had to prioritize school first. Nonetheless, my Photoshopped-self is our little secret okay? Lol!

I know I have sinned against the gods of vanity and have failed to bring my digicam to Palawan that weekend. Nonetheless, with the help of the world wide web and my Facebook account, I finally have decent pictures to share with everyone!
We had a picnic lunch that day in a small island across the Dos Palmas resort. It took us an hour to get there via boat so you could just imagine how hungry we were when we got there! The food the staff had catered for us was absolutely mouth-watering. I just kept getting second (and third) servings because with a wide variety of dishes to choose from, it was a sin to think of dieting!

Hola, Candy Girls!
I am back from the beautiful island of Palawan—tanned, golden, and loving my new color! My blockmates and friends have been constantly bugging me about my uhm, skin tone because I seriously look so dark, they kid around that I should smile just so they could see something white.
Why thank you for the mockery. Good to know I have great friends. :| Just kidding!
My cousin and I were roommates in Dos Palmas for 3 days and 2 nights. And for those days of pure bliss, we sucked up all the sun, went kayaking, had a massage (and refused to laugh out loud because we’re both so ticklish), and ate so much it’s a miracle the airline didn’t charge us for excess baggage.
I am actually quite guilty though because of all things that I could forget, I forgot my digicam (que horror). It was some last-minute packing and I really don’t cram so well (I forgot my sunglasses, too!). So I apologize for my lack of pictures.
I wish I could bring all you girls in Palawan. The place is amazing! Although, I do honestly believe that Boracay sand is just insanely awesome (no contest), the serenity and peacefulness of Palawan is something you will NEVER ever get in Manila.
It was quite funny though because I was still studying while I was getting a tan. I had two long tests due, so you could just imagine the irony that an 18-year old clad in a bikini was busily flipping notes for Psychology and Spanish while overlooking the sea. And yes, the sea does inspire you. Surprisingly, I was actually able to study and I got my results the other day. I was able to get above average scores! Booyah!
Palawan has that effect! =))
After the last night in Palawan, I seriously was considering chaining myself to the bedpost because I had no intention of flying back home. But then again, I’m here writing this post for you girls so yes, that didn’t work out so well now, didn’t it? LOL
Aboard the plane, I was still flipping through my index cards (my aunt was disgusted), when a young man went in front of the plane, grabbed the microphone, and proposed to his girlfriend in front of all the passengers.
I died out of kilig. It was such a Kodak moment!
Too bad I didn’t bring my camera (I am still so bitter!)
Regardless of my lack of packing abilities, I still had a wonderful time in Palawan. No words can encapsulate such a terrific getaway and I highly recommend that you at least get to see the wonders of your own country. We do live in a beautiful country and it’s about high time that you amaze yourself with such great scenery! Forget Hong Kong, Singapore, or Vietnam!
Fly and experience Pilipinas!
Sun, Sand, and Sea,
Sandra
